I predict that we will get an away clean sheet this season. At Crawley last game of the season when needing a win to guarantee staying up, we will get a 0-0 draw!!!!!!!
Why? It happens. I'm dissapointed but inexcusable is not the word I would use. Its a point closer to safety and still unbeaten in 5, if we was offered a point before hand I bet 99% of us would of taken it. I find it funny that when ever something don't go our way the board is popular but win and it's quiet.
Perhaps we should just have taken one off and played with 10. we managed to hold on for a draw against a better team that way!!!. But as said before a point away that'll do.
Last 11 games - W5-D4-L2 - 19 points. Not a bad achievement with 8 games left, I think Cotts and the team will do us well.
Poor substitutions and change of team shape to 3-5-2 mid second half. Our midfield don't know how to protect the back line. We should have been seven points from the drop zone with only -3 goal difference which equals another point! Will we live to regret this one?
It's all very well saying that we would have settled for a point before the game but to cave in within 17 minutes of the whistle is poor. Those 2 points could make a huge difference and would have also put Colchester 3 points behind us with their game in hand unable to get above us. Our defence has been the Achilles heel for several seasons now. That should be the area that we strengthen at all costs as an inability to defend will always cost you.
My point on this one is that we have been unable to defend a lead for several years and if someone has fixed that huge deficit in our game then we would not be in this position. Surely even the most avid poster can see that, but it appears there are still some loose cannons who think that an away point is acceptable, and possible in our current state it is, but we must fix the ongoing problems that have bugged us for years. How many times do we have to say we need a mid-field general to hold us together, and the results have shown that is still our downfall? All credit to SC for improving our lot over the last 10 games but if due diligence is not paid to improving certain positions on the pitch then we will continue to struggle for a while. Steve knows what is needed and we just have to hope that the board finally realise what is wrong and support him to the hilt to return us to respectability. He knows it makes sense and so do we!
Very poor Lan,we were cruising and bossing the game according to our own site. Understandable if we were not bossing the game, and looseing two goals is not acceptable
It happens with two goal leads, that's the problem. If we of got a 3rd we'd be all very happy fans right now, but we're not. We didn't defend the first or second very well, their could of been a handball for their first goal, I'm pretty sure we had at least 2 perfect goals disallowed, it's football.
It's always disappointing when you are 2-0 up and end up drawing. However, any point is a good one away from home
Disappointed, and it feels like 2 points lost. I was watching final score, 2-0 up and seemidly almost there when I saw their goal go in. I have always said 2-0 is a difficult lead to protect- Do you attack, get a 3rd goal, but risk being open at the back? or do you sit on it, go deep (as we often seem to, far too early in games),At 2-1, it becomes a completely different game and yesterday was no exception. The home team suddenly ups the ante, the crowd become louder, and sure enough, its soon 2-2. At that point, we still had 11 mins and injury time to see out, but it appeared that Colchester decided at that point to protect the point that they had. Others may well have gone for it and we could have easily had lost it. We are on 43 points with 8 games to go. A return of just 1 point per game should see us over the line, so after the dust had settled, I did look at it as being a point closer. We are still unbeaten in March with 3 wins and 2 draws, 11 points from 15 is still pretty good and if we can keep a steady momentum going, safety can be soon achieved.
So Colchester prove they are not a collection of pussys by making a game of it ! I dont think that is any reason to take it out on a manager who, lets be frank, has performed a minor miracle this season by keeping our club in the third division. But for him we would be looking forward to a very dismal 2015 No wonder we never get any success here in BS3 Just Believe
Southampton just threw a 2 goal lead to lose 3-2. It happens when the away side goes two up. At least we got a point.
Bit of a difference between away at White Hart Lane against a team in 5th position and Colchester one place below us?
