very well summed up , his worth must be relevent to his value to fill in both places in the side, this the problem of having a multi tier wage system if there was a closer parity players like jack would become more settled, hes worth a rise i feel he is now a senior player in every sense, no problems with him ,i hope he stays
He deserves more than 10k a week (by comparison to other footballers, not the real world), but he doesnot deserve 30k a week or more. 20k? Probs about right, if he's being greedy, then sell him, but I'd be surprised if he's taking the piss with his demands.
Its not all about the money but how much is enough? and who's right is it to decide? we live in a capitalist world. We don't know that his parents did not struggle for year to afford to take him to training and buy him boots etc... and this is now pay back time. Until a wage cap is bought in players will negotiate their wages. I think he will stay he is just looking for the best deal he can. Your a long time retired as a footballer and you never know what might happen in the future with the economy. I doubt very much some of the past cup winners thought at the time they would have to sell their medals. I bet if we offer similar to what he could get elsewhere he would stay with us.
his salary should be comparable to his team mates. if Catts or Bardo are on 30k a week, so should colback. in the perfect world, all players wages would be decreased, but that aint the way this world works
I would like him to stay and become a left back permanently at the club, whether he wants to play there is another thing, but in the echo Di canio said he would be a winger during the match, which to me makes sense, with maybe a midfielder (Larsson?) dropping into his place when he goes on the attack. I like colback and reckon he could make that type of player, but needs to up his crossing skills. He could save us a fortune trying to bring in a left back, and who will be right back next season?, not Gardner though. And by the way, in the virgin media magazine (we watch sky sports through them) a few punters have predicted us finishing in the bottom 3 next season !. A mag says Di canio will be sacked first, and we will finish in the bottom 3. I don't think so we could finish between 6th and 10th. Some predicting Swansea to go down, no way with Michu and Boney in their team.
