Colback cut from England Squad

On another note shouldn't we be pushing Pardew for the England manager. As the longest serving current English manager in the Premier League he deserves a chance and he deserves it now. Lets forget Sack Pardew.com - its Pardew for England.org! Ashley would jump at it - get rid of him and receive compensation - his ideal scenario. I do accept Indestructible's point about Clattermole in relation to other players being selected but it does strike me as being comparative to when Taylor was England Manager and the likes of Carlton Palmer et al were being selected.

Can't help but bemoan the drop in standards which to a great extent link in with Sky money, foreign players and the reduced number of English players and opportunities for young English players.

 

Cattermole? Indy, pull the other one. That's a ridiculous suggestion and you know it.

For a start, he's as sub-standard as all the other midfielders getting a call-up, but with the bonus he'd be the single greatest accumulator of yellow and red cards in the history of international football. He's utterly reckless, and let's be honest, Sunderland fans are constantly in a state of flux about him. 6 months ago it was "why's this **** in our team", 6 months before that it was "Cattermole have my 6 fingered babies"

The only Sunderland player that'll ever get close, is Rodwell. That lad has talent, is better than the likes of Delph, but he just needs to get back to full-form.
