He looked great in the 23s but was a defensive liability in the few games he played for the first team.

Had another very good game last night and another assist. For me he is our next RWB after Ayling, but depends on Bielsa….. if Bielsa goes he stays I reckon. The boy only wanted to play football and is so far by far our best loaned out player this season

This is our downside to Bielsa, he just doesn’t handle a player who asks or poses a question he doesn’t like. We’ve seen it with Pontus and Pablo, if Bielsa stays Drameh will be the one that got away.

Would I prefer Bielsa to stay and Drameh sold, yes probably but on the other hand the stubbornness of a small squad is hurting us. The insistence of a complete squad reshuffle anytime someone is injured is annoying.

Drameh wasn’t getting game time in the U23s he was sitting on the bench watching the likes of Shackleton and Dallas played ahead of him, this was heading for a completely wasted and stagnating season for him, I don’t blame him asking to leave or be loaned out.

Another thing, comparing his first few appearances in the first team to Firpo on the left he (Drameh) was far better yet Firpo was given time, Drameh wasn’t. I do find that a bit strange too.

Dramah looked completely lost in our first team. He was ripped to shreds regularly. That's why he wasn't selected very often. To be fair to him, he was starting to improve a little just before he went out on loan.

He was signed from Fulham u23s without ever making a first team appearance, to our u23s. He's a kid at a premier league club, and only exceptional talent gets regular game time at that age in this league. He did get some. And he was a rabbit in the headlights.

I said i don't blame him for wanting a loan move. Pretty much all u23s who aren't pressing for a first team place at every club want one. And I don't believe anyone should expect loyalty from players... they have a short career and need to look after themselves. What I am saying is that his lack of loyalty during the situation we found ourselves in, means he's done here.

There are many who would suggest that training under Bielsa with the first team squad is not stunting his progress... but that's a perception.

We all know what happened. Cardiff tapped up his agent, promised him first team action, his agent told him to push for a loan move. Cody who seems like he probably needs assistance to go to the toilet, just did as he was told. Doesn't make him a bad lad, but Bielsa demands you buy in to the program or fck off. If he's doing well and putting himself in the shop window demonstrating he can cut it in man's football - then he may very well have taken the right decision and good luck to him.

here's how I see it:

Cardiff needed Drameh to fill a hole, they would no doubt have told his agent that the lad would be GUARANTEED a starting role for the rest of the season ... without this guarantee there's no way Drameh would have gone there

now, with a guarantee in place, Drameh needed to assess his options, and look at how realistic it would be for him to break into the Leeds team ... upon reflection, and looking at how he didn't impress when he did get a chance, he probably felt that he's not yet at Prem level and a run in the Championship is his level right now ... so, not a hard decision to make

Bielsa admitted that he was disappointed, but he also felt that stopping Drameh from getting playing time was not the right thing ... what Bielsa did question was if the experience of being coached by Morison rather than the staff at Leeds was the better option ... I don't think Drameh's at Cardiff to learn from Morison, but rather to just play

if Drameh shines and gets stronger and more confident, Leeds have a right back for next season and don't have to worry about spending in that area ... if the lad really wants to leave next season, it won't be to Cardiff on loan again, but he'll be sold for a tidy sum

all in all, everyone's a winner, nothing negative about the Drameh loan at all

oh, and don't believe all this "want away ten" nonsense either

Are you sure that Summerville actually asked for a move away? Can't remember reading that, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there to be read & I missed it. I think the days of player asking for a move are long gone. Agents do the asking now (demanding?), and they only ask if they've done their groundwork & found somewhere for their player to go.

Begs the question: do agents get a percentage of the loan fee? I'd be surprised if they didn't, given how they control football these days.

I agree and I would be very disappointed if Bielsa closed a door for his return IF he does shine and could do a job for us next season

Now Bielsa has come clean on those talks and revealed why the transfer failed to go through.

“He spoke with me and he told me he wanted to leave. I told him that would not be a problem,” Bielsa revealed, via Leeds Live.

“The reason why I said this to him is if a player who has pretty frequent participation with the first team, not necessarily coming on, but contemplated frequently, asked me to leave, for me that reason is sufficient.

“For any player that tells me they want to leave, I would answer: no problem, I’m not opposed to you leaving. But what is the reason he wants to leave? I don’t analyse if it corresponds or not, simply not wanting to be here is sufficient. That’s a sporting position.”

Leeds put their foot down
Bielsa, though, revealed that the transfer broke down after Leeds put their foot down.

“After the club has a different look on it because the players sign contracts and have obligations,” he said. “They sum up to economic value and I don’t have the power to decide contractual or economic problems.

Regarding Summerville, it will be interesting to see if he gets any more first team opportunities this season. First impression is that it’s unlikely as he wasn’t on the bench last night.

Maybe he’ll be good enough to force his way back in, who knows ?

His agent had offers from Rangers as Giovani Von Bronkhurst knows the lad, also Blackburn as a replacement for Poveda who they broke, hamburg, Gent and a top Dutch side. Its believed Germany or Holland are his choices.
