Used to work in Green Street and Stratford library in the early 1990s. Had to work every other Saturday so used to take a radio in and wear an earphone while packing the shelves...all the old guys would come and asked me the scores every now and again. In a staff meeting a manager said it was amazing how so many pensioners would come and talk to me for advice on books
I remember getting an orange football from green shield stamps. It was heavy as anything but it did the job.

We never used to have all this fighting that goes on today.....................or did we? https://www.youtube.com/shorts/tGQd_gy78As?feature=share
What about getting the late Saturday Evening News to see what the results were. After a while, it was log on to ceefax.
It was quite impressive to get the train to Liverpool Street after the match where you could buy the Evening News or the Evening Standard to read all the results.
