He'll be off at some point. He can't be happy being 4th choice. He's looked a decent defender when he's played and I think he can count himself hard done by he didn't get more opportunities at start of season because skrtel was rubbish first 10 games and should have been dropped.

  2. I think its a shame but a Uruguay international isn't going to sit around as fourth choice. I'd prefer to loan him to a Premier League club but if we can a decent for him then so be it. We have a few that can play CB: Agger, Skrtel, Carra, Kelly and Wisdom. Only problem is, only Skrtel is good enough and available more than not! DA, MK and AW all have injury issues, Carra can't play every game!

I like the way he puts United States in his location - as though us British don't know where ****ing Cincinnati is!

    You know those Americans...

    American: Where you from?

    British: Wales.

American: Oh, where about in England is that?

American: Do you know the Queen personally?

    British: No.

American: You do eat crumpets and drink tea 5 times a day though?

    British: No.

What's all this British crap? In almost every country in the world that I've been to, I'm hardly ever asked if I am British the default is always "are you English". The 2 exceptions are Australia and New Zealand (but then deep down they both think they are still colonies!)

All Americans I've encountered have always said British. They think Britain is a country <ok> mind you these are mostly abusive teenagers on XBOX Live. That's why I love the mute button.

I forgot about the Yanks. Come to think of it the Canadians are pretty good at recognising the different nations within the UK. However go to France, our nearest neighbour and you'll always be called an "Anglais" no matter what your accent!!

<doh> We should not be letting this guy go ffs.

He's quality, he's young and playing one of the most difficult positions in a team to gell in, in a team under serious pressure and also one that left the back line exposed so much that even Skrtel and Agger didn't look great..
Carra? playing better? Double <doh> Carra's played in this league, nay in this team for decades<doh>

Look at Smalling, hailed as this and that, don't get me wrong, I think smalling is good but he's made plenty of big mistakes inherent to learning the CB role. Jones also makes a balls of things but again he's young. Cahill for Chelsea, same again, good player, bags of potential to be a top class CB like Coates.

It didn't work, apparently you need a beret on too, and a striped blue and white long sleeved top.

That doesn't work either - well at least not in Brittany when such attire will provoke only, "Merde un autre Anglais!!"

There are rumours of Skrtel potentially leaving in the summer.

If he wants to go for first team football then so be it. You can't blame the player for that and I won't blame the club if they sell a player who says he doesn't want to be here (if that is what he's said). He isn't going to displace either Skrtel or Agger while they're fit and he knows that. He also knows that BR will need to replace Carra at the end of the season and that more than likely he'll still be fourth choice anyway. If he does go then we absolutely must get a replacement in and in this window. Agger and Kelly are both injury prone and as much as I am fine with Carra playing a few matches here and there, relying on him if Skrtel or Agger get an injury would be risky.

Personally I'd prefer it if he stayed (and went on loan if necessary) as I think most centre backs are never fully ready for regular first team action until their mid 20s anyway. If he decides he wants out though then good luck to him and I have total confidence we'll sign someone better <whistle>

I'm sure the Swans fans will be around to tell us how lovely we are when the Williams rumours start flying around <yikes>
