So because Saints came 7th in our 1st League One season means young talent like Lallana and Schneiderlin would never be good enough for the Championship, let alone the Premier League?
If I'm perfectly honest, Steve Davis from Rangers is the signing I'm least excited about. Yes he's a good player and should do well for us next year, but Clyne and J-Rod are both tipped for great things for club and country. Just because they are from teams who finished mid-table in the championship doesn't mean they aren't good enough. Had we finished mid-table, everyone would have known Lallana and Lambert would be able to make the step up.
You're not thinking critically. You may have your own opinion, but it is wrong. Sorry. If you can't see that Jay Rod and Clyne are top signings, then you are beyond me.
You´ll be the one looking like a dick come the start of the season when Clyne has Nasri in his pocket.
It's not the opinion, its the fact that you base it on an invalid observation, drawing a conclusion that really has no basis
I tend not to usually post on here due to the idiocy that spouts from different people each week and the arguments people get into based on these different opinions. Yet I state a different opinion and am told directly that I'm wrong. I knew some of you lot were morons but MMJ and DLTW have suprised me a little bit. I'm saying they're alright signings but wouldn't classify them as top signings.
Arguments people get into based on different opinions? Um, you called someone a dick for saying you're wrong, you took it to personal insults so who can really be blamed for starting an argument? And top signing? Okay, no, Jay Rodriguez isn't Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Nathan Clyne isn't Phillipe Lahm, Steve Davis isn't Mario Gotze, if we sign Butland he isn't Neuer and if we sign Buttner he isn't Bale. But for the level we're at, they're top signings. Realistically, it'd be very difficult for us to sign a better striker than Rodriguez, a better CM than Davis and a better RB than Clyne, based on where we are right now. By that definition, they're top signings.
oh god I hate saintsweb, filled with ridiculous posts like this one by alpine saint: Look, All we can do at the moment is a "mid-term" report on FACTS. What HAS happened on the transfer market at Saints. And then ask the question: are the FACTS ofour transfer activity ENOUGH to keep us in the PL ? So, we have bought J-Rod, good-looking striker, great potential, and Steven Davis who it is not clear if he is even permitted to play for us, but seeing as he didnt participate in the Memorial Cup it seems currently that he is NOT permitted. The FACTS are we have no GK cover, and have no decent CB cover. Also there are doubts we are strong enough in centre midfield for this division. Fact or not ? So based on FACTS, our transfer period so far is underwhelming and disappointing. Maybe our management were a bit naiive about their ability to secure targets at this level and with the club widely perceived to have a healthy bank balance. Based on FACTS, our transfer period does not look strong enough to keep us in this division.
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!!?! THESE SIGNINGS ARE WORLD CLASS THEY WILL GUIDE US TO THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. REAL AND BARCE WANTED HIM. Top signings yes, world class signings, no.
