And after 10 games we bring in someone else and then he brings in more new players and so on and so on,stick with Hughes until he walks out.
I don't think we should have employed him in the first place, so I will admit I have a rather jaundiced opinion, but I am not going to change my mind even if we win at City (we won't). His record for us is ****, and if as some people suggest we give him 10 league games, we could be buried by then. Needs to go now I'm afraid.
I really cannot believe some peoples reactions on here. I bet the same Moaners used to complain every time briatore used to sack another manager, yet you all want Hughes gone after 2 games of a new season. Clueless!
Shefford, as much as I have huge reservations about Hughes's tactical ability it is ridiculous to call for his sacking after 2 games of a new season!! It would be a backward step to the bad old Briatore days!
What about our performances under him last season? I will not go into it again, but for crying out loud wake up and smell the coffee.
Couldnt of put it better myself. Some on here need to sit back, chill out a bit and realise sacking the manager after 2 games would be the completely wrong thing to do. What sort of message does that send out to any potential replacement ? That we are a f****** joke that's what. The mood on this board is up and down like a whores draws.
Have you forgotten that we BARELY survived under him last season, that we haven't won away, that we got tonked last week by a team that had NEVER won at LR, that he substituted Hill for SWP, that he looks as if he doesn't know what he is doing, that he has wasted pre season.......................
I think we will lose to Walsall. This could be good or bad, good because this is a ****ing nonsense cup now and bad because poor morale will be even lower.
My support for Hughes?! It comes from being a lifelong Qpr supporter who has seen the good, the bad and the ugly. Hughes took over a team that was fractured and heading towards relegation, he brought in some good players and despite some of those players trying their best to screw things up with a hatful of red cards, he still kept us up by the skin of our teeth. He continues to buy some quality players, the like of which would never have joined under warnock. But the fact remains we've had 3 teams in the space of a year, but the new team has only played two games, 2!!!! If anyone thinks that a team should be playing like brazil after 2 games need to take a look at history and see if there are any teams brought together who have performed after 2 games. But having been a fan for so many years, I remember what it was like going from a poor team to a winning team. Under venables, Jim smith and Gerry Francis, it all took time and we reaped the success of those managers having time to build a team. But back then fans tended to support the team come what may. If a player played badly, you groaned, but you still supported them and cheered that bit harder to give them confidence. Yet we seem to have acquired fans that seem to think that in 5 years from being close to liquidation we now deserve to be challenging for the top places after 2 games with a new team. It doesn't matter if we only sign 1 player to go in to the team, that 1 player needs time to settle, let alone all the players we've signed. So it will take time, but it all counts for nothing if we get rid of the manager after 2 games. What do we get then? A new manager with a squad full if players who bought in to MH way of thinking and now a new manager who will have to rebuild, yet again. Where would that leave us? Better off or back to the days under briatore where a team of good players were heading down the league at a rate of knots? Good job Man Utd didn't sack fergie after his first season when he'd spent an unheard of amount buying all the best players, who were languishing in the bottom half of the table and nearly knocked out of the cup by 3rd division opposition. He wouldn't have got his knighthood after winning everything. Why? Cause the board stuck by him and the rest is history. So before calling for the bad times again and sacking managers at the drop of a hat, grow a pair and look through history to see if Rome was built in a day.
I have people like you constantly reminding me Shefford . A bit unfair to be blaming MH for just staying up last year when it was Warnock who put us into that position in the first place. In fact under Hughes I thought we had some decent results at the end when a lot on here had as doomed to the Championship. And as for being battered last week by Swansea, I'm beginning to think we won't be the only team beaten at home convincingly by them, they might suprise a lot bigger teams than us.
Like you I have supported QPR for sometime (40+ years). I have seen the good times and the bad. If you think that MH is anywhere near the quality of Alex Ferguson, I suggest you might be a bit deluded. Additionally, I am judging Hughes on ALL our performances under him NOT 2 games. However, if you wish to ignore that fact as it doesn't sit well with your argument, then that is up to you. I have no qualms whatsoever with my opinion of MH, I have never thought he was a good manager and I never will. There is no need to get personal but as you have, I do not need to 'grow a pair' and suggest that, due to the fact that I am prepared to stand up for what I think despite the opposition, I may well have a bigger pair than you.
Two games in. First point on the board. First away point for some time. Improvement on first game... Yep...better sack the manager.
Shefford, unlike you I'm not ignoring anything. In time Hughes might fail, but if you think you can see the future then you sir are god. But if you think that Hughes did a bad job after saving us with all the suspensions he had to deal with then I'd say it is you who is deluded. I'm prepared to give it time, as it is time that is needed. My point about ferguson if you read it is that no one would have a clue ow good a manager he would be if man utd had you in charge, cause you'd have sacked him. Where is the new ferguson going to come from if people like you bottle it after two games and call for their head??!
Have you forgotten we had the toughest run in possible yet we beat Liverpool, tottenham, arsenal etc and were into injury time beating the league champions away from home! Nobody gave him a hope but he completed his first objective. Give him time we need some stability not knee jerk reactions. The time to tell us when the window is closed, we have our squad and they've had a chance to play. Warnock had till January let's see how MH does. You can't judge on freak results. Against Swansea we had the greatest number of chances in the league but didn't register. They scored with 5 out of 6. These things happen sometime. I wish people would relax and remember how far we've come in a short space of time!
