Psychology plays such a massive part in sport, it surprises me we don't invest more into it. It has to be cheaper than buying new players, and the potential rewards are huge.
I like Clucas- works hard, links up well, rarely gives the ball away and adds balance on the left, gets forward and to me is an upgrade on Meyler/Quinn. Problem I have with him running 13.5k is it highlights how much running our midfield is having to do to cover the huge gap we leave between the back and the forward line. Bottom line is our defence should push up, allowing the midfield to engage the opposition higher up the pitch and also be naturally in a better position to support the forwards.
Swans fan here. Hoping someone might make a sensible response. We are looking to play Clucas at left back. I know he was picked there for you, how did he get on?
He ain't no left back. He ain't no left winger either. If you can't accommodate him in the middle, than you shouldn't play him.
DMC or pointless....seen in few games you've had him lining up attacking LM or AM, will look like a 1m player rather than a 13m player there unfortunately
Has had a poor start to his career at the Swans, if his poor form carries on up to the transfer window, i have a feeling SB will be in with a cut price transfer/loan offer.
Good luck to Sam and the others who left us because If your not on your game every week, the unforgiving Premier league usually finds you out very very quickly.
He's had a poor start because people are looking at him as a £15m player, when ch he never is. Maybe playing him at LB will be the making of him at Swansea, has had a good year every season playing a different position. 14/15 at Chesterfield stood out as a striker 15/16 here did well on the left wing 16/17 here did well in CM 17/18 at Swansea might be a £20m England international World Cup winning left back?
Good point, if Swans fans thought Kingsley was great back up at left back then they'll probably think Sam's a world beater there.
Watched the game and he was their best player tbh. The moment he is played on the wings either left side of midfield or left back, he isnt the player that got the headlines for us. His best position is central midfield.
Nope, he's had a poor start because he hasn't played well. Maybe he needs more game time but that can be said of any number of players. I'm looking at him as a direct competitor for Fulton and IMO Fulton comes out marginally on top.
He got the nickname Clueless here then proved the doubters wrong by raising his game to the level at which Swansea bought him for silly amounts. Give the lad a run of games and time to settle and he will do alright.
