I think with proper planning and utilisation of the space the capacity can push to something like 40k. That would be sufficient to get us to the next level. MAF helps make our first steps and learnt to walk after a period on the wheelchair (based on our age as a club no disrespect to disabled people). Now it is time to try jogging...
Allow me to offer my thoughts This is good news for the club and I'll tell you why. Right now, we are a relatively 'safe' mid-table team and that's absolutely fine. We pride ourselves in managing on a budget, both in terms of transfer fees and player wages, but we can only survive on this tactic for so long, other teams such as Southampton, Cardiff, Norwich, Swansea etc are all splashing the cash and will look to overtake us this season both in terms of squad quality and table position, this isn't to say they will but it looks likely. The facts are that we, by standing still, are actually falling behind. There is little progression on the field, if anything there's digression. We sold our two best players last summer and have yet to replace them, how long can we survive by doing this? The new chairman will provide a fresh impetus, improve training facilities etc and give us a boost in the transfer market. Nobody is saying we will become soulless like Man City or Chelsea but a change really is needed. I think we can begin to look for a top 6 finish if this takeover goes ahead, top 6 doesn't mean we have to leave Craven Cottage for a 50K capacity museum. We need transfer funds and if a takeover is the only way to get them without having to continue selling our best players then I'm all for it.
