Not sure of that bit, but this has just come from Allen's camp. I was hoping that he wouldn't want to uproot with a baby imminent, but it sounds like he's expecting a move
Well no bother mate, maybe Allen's agent causing mischief, a la Taylor!! At least the club have put up a stance not to be messed with. If he does want to go, make sure we screw every last penny. But hopefully it will not be to Rodgers still!!
I can assure you, this is nothing to do with his agent. I don't want it to happen and I've been looking for all positives that it won't happen, but I think it's just a case of how much we get for him now
So you are saying Joe wants to go & Huw just needs to be shown the colour of John Henry's money??....
Couldn't you interpret this as a piece of PR from a club that could lose their most saleable asset to their ex-manager?
Not sure if he wants to go, it wasn't put that way, but he is expecting to go, so make of that what you will.
SA9 Reading that would it be conceivable that Laudrup has told the swans that should a club meet his valuation of say 15million for allen then the swans should sell, to cut a long story short its the swans or should i say laudrup who wants to sell. not allen wanting the move.
Quite possibly, I thought along those lines with regard to siggy. Did Laudrup really want him when he had what he considered a better option up his sleeve for a fraction of the price. Only time will tell, but I hope he knows what he's doing. As for Joey, I wish him all the best and hope it works out for him, and I hope he'll still get the gametime under rogers replacement come Christmas.
I'd take Carroll for Allen , as long as Carroll takes a hit on his wages till he proves himself ....DONE !
Exactly!! My thoughts on your comment SA9, was the same as Mabon's!! Joe's possibly being used to free up cash... If so, not sure I'm liking this way forward...
Just hope Rodgers doesn't get him personally. If he is to go, prefer he goes to Spurs or such like...
Had any of you ever thought, that being a Swansea boy so to speak, Joe's not going to come out and say he wants to go! He's very silent on this............
If Allen doesn't want to go , everything possible should be done to keep him ... that's a whole other ball game IMO . But it is a business & I wouldn't begrudge any Swan manager a chance to sell a player for much , much more than he evaluates the players worth !
i agree with you, i am convinced that rodgers is not long at liverpool, having been at the club a few weeks his talk went from i will get you the premiership to it may not happen during my tenure, i think he has realised the job of rebuilding liverpool is a much bigger task than first envisaged and will take a big wad of cash, plus the time it will take to mould their team in to his way of thinking, i think he is screwed and i would give him until january/february and he is toast.if i were allen i would think very carefully about a move there, especially at this time all will be revealed i suppose
I've thought about Joe's silence. But then again, he's a quiet lad & you just think he's getting on with his GB business. What I don't feel comfortable with is, players know the media circus that happens when rumours fly around, but never quash them!! Taylor comes to mind, the silence was deafening during that episode!! He got a better contract out of it though....
I was expecting him to be staying home to be with his new born baby. It. now appears to be the case that his mrs is expecting to be without him for the first few weeks. The baby is due late august
There are so many rumours that it would be a full-time job for players if they issued a statement every time someone said something about them. Just be patient and all will be revealed.
Liverpool have cash available for Allen. Rodgers can have as much as he wants from FSG so long as he convinces them that said player is absolutely vital and Brendan thinks the player will be very special. He has done this with FSG for Allen but didn't believe Siggy was worth the extra outlay and neither did FSG. Liverpool don't hve a 'budget' per se, it is based on how valued the player is by Brendan, his staff, scouts and the new Head of Recruiting. If £25m was needed next week as an absolute world beater was available and willing to join LFC the money would be made available. However, if big money is spent it is expected to be spent well and if big money is mis-spent like last Summer Brendan will be held accountable for his actions just as Comolli and Dalglish were. All Liverpool have to do is trigger the £15m release and I am led to believe Joe has let it be known to LFC that he is keen to rejoin Brendan. He won't leave for anything less than £15m though and no other clubs will match go as high as LFC or even above £12m. The first rejected offer was actually for £12m not £10m. I am also told that there is something else in why that statement was released by the club yesterday which by mate is trying to find out about and suspects more info will probably leak out in the media in the coming days. My mate based on what he knows is "very, very confident" on Allen being a LFC player soon. Thought I'd pass what I was told on in good faith. P.S There was an "understanding" and desire to bring Joe to Anfield with Brendan as far back as the day after he got the LFC job, its nothing to do with Rodgers suddenly realising he needs him, this has been in the pipework for weeks regardless what the club are saying in public.
Toela, how do you know no other club will go as high as £15million pounds. Also, how does this mate of yours know what Joe is thinking right now? He's away on GB duty, hasn't made a statement and is probably putting all this to the back of his mind. I'd be keen to see any strong links to Allen being a Pool player soon. Huw Jenkins, take a bow son. You always have and always will have the best interests of this club at heart. Long may that continue. P.s. Saw the logic and sheep "jokes". Mya I remind you, that some Liverpudlians only "logic" is to know that it's the best time to steal hubcaps at night, less chance to be caught you see (Now have another 200 rubbing their hands in delight and awaiting this evening to try it). Also, we shag's em boy's, you eat them. Tell me, how does my semen taste?
