they want a story ,the longer its strung the better they like it,must have been heard somewhere other than a statement from the club who have not commented anything about it , these are the same guys who deal in speculation on everything if they are correct ,good job ,if its not ,they move on to the next vision in the crystal ball thats all it is until the club announces the deal.

I think that could be said for the staff at the Sun but it's really not Chris Youngs style. Where's this talk of a get out clause come from then? You're ITK sources? In your head? Or main stream media.

The club states they're working on the clubs best interests. He's obviously leaving and we've allowed him to be approached, what other interests in Big Sam leaving can there be other than compensation? If he was leaving for nowt they'd be nothing in Sunderland's interests left to be had out of the deal.

Baine but one would imagine Short will be more hands on in this situation. It's basis will be Contract left to run, cost to replace inconvenience caused, legal costs and admin. .

The record for a manager is 12 for mourinho from Inter to Real.

I don't see big Sam breaking any records. What would you guess the figure is?

Well from one quick google search I've found Chelsea paid £13.3m to Porto for Villas-Boas and that was back in 2011. There's a lot more money involved in the game since then and FA have have had their fair share of the pie. I would have opened negotiations at 40 million but would accept 20-25m.

We'd get laughed at if we quoted those figures mate. Had Pep been on a fresh 5 year deal I doubt city would have paid that to Bayern and this is Sam Allardyce going to manage the National team. I doubt we'd even manage 10m.

We couldn't get more than 2m for Giack, I think your faith in our board and their negotiation skills is pretty misplaced. That said I doubt even Levy would manage those numbers.

You're talking ****e mate. You asked me what I would ask not what I think the club will ask. I don't know what the club will ask.

Bournemouth pay £15 for Ibe and you think we can't command even ten million when the top job in the country comes knocking for our manager. Far fetched fella, I think you're living on prices from half a decade ago.

Talking ****e? I could easily say the same to you mate but I'm trying to be civil. You seem to have plucked numbers out of nowhere and they're pie in the sky compared to what's usually reported. Allardyce's compensation fee is going to double the current record?

I'm going off what Koeman went to Everton for (£5m) along with the fact that I don't think a club can play hard ball with the FA when it's the managers dream job. Ibe is a young British player, they're fashionable and they're overpriced and it's generally thought that Bournemouth are having their pants pulled down on that one.

Anyway... Neither of us have a clue as we're not privvy to much information we'd need to form educated opinions on it. It will likely be undisclosed, so we won't hear anyhow so I can't be arsed with this conversation. For what it's worth... I hope you're correct and I'm completely wrong.

I'm having a **** of a day at work and my missus is at home really unwell so I don't really want to bicker on here. Take it easy.

You asked me what i would have asked for then twisted it to make it sound like that's what I thought the club will ask for, on top of that you started implying 'my misplaced faith' that you just made up off the back of word twisting. That's the ****e you were talking fella. It's not that I'm not being civil simpley calling out bullshit sentiment you applied to me. If anything the word twisting followed by a dig was pretty uncivil. No interest in debating with word twisters.
