cheers for that robby - what will happen do you think - will they move or can they expand the bridge - what would happen if shares ended up in the hands of non-chelsea supporters who have no interest in the club ps. have the cpo any power to stop the re-naming of the stadium
If we have serious pretensions to being a top flight club then a move away from the Bridge is inevitable - with the imposition of EUFA's FFP rules coming into force there will be no hiding behind Roman's wallet anymore, we have to pay our way. Fulham & Hammersmith Council's well intentioned proposal to increase our capacity will come nowhere near for what we need to remain a competitive force. For those of you who want us to stay at the Bridge this will condemn us to a decade of austerity measures and mid-table mediocrity in the long term...as for falling back on full-scale youth development the last time we achieved that successfully was with "The Doc" & his 'little diamonds". So where would we relocate to? Battersea would seem to be the logical place - plenty of options for development and not as many hurdles to straddle as Earls Court where we would be burdened with objections from local residents and stringent planning regulations. The clock is ticking and we will need to make a decision soon - this is a not flight of panic its about making long-term coherent planning for the club's future....so lets start NOW!
