So pretty much zero chance Rosler would come here before the end of the season even if all the cards did fall into place. More chance of Irvine thru till May.

Rosler's managerial career has been mixed, but his sackings at Wigan and Leeds many thought were premature. He knows both European and UK football though and his style of football is described thus on Wiki:

"Rösler is renowned for his teams playing a high, pressing style of football, and is also a fan of squad rotation among players, with 4–3–3 or 3–5–2 his favoured formations. Rösler compared his style and brand of football similar to the philosophies of German compatriot Jurgen Klopp, describing the style of football as 'heavy metal' attacking football, with powerful quick football with quick transitions from attack to defence."

Interestingly, his assistant, Rob Kelly, was formerly assistant to Alan Irvine and those three could perhaps make an effective team at City. Of the candidates mentioned so far, he'd be my choice.

To be fair one of the 2 types of formations mentioned would suit most city fans, rather than 4 - 5 - 1. Looking at our squad 3-5-2 would probably suit us better than 4-3-3 at least initially.

What I like about Rosler is his emphasis on "powerful quick football with quick transitions from attack to defence." The lack of that 'quickness' was a major weakness under AN. As for formations, a 3-5-2 would depend on who we have at LB. Dijks would be ideal, but I can't see him staying now unless the new structure is in place soon. I like the idea of a 4-3-3 with 'quick transitions from defense to attack' and vice versa and that would suit our wide players, who aren't really wingers but could join the striker in attacks, supported by a second line of Howson, Hoolahan or Pritchard and Tettey, with the FBs overlapping.

Both 3-5-2 and 4-3-3 would require us to completely overhaul our defence - 100%. We couldn't operate such formations with the Chuckle Brothers defending we have seen for many seasons now.

Get a new defence and 3-5-2 would be my preferred choice.

The swivel TV will be removed and installed in the corner of the N and P and Jarrold stands.
