It could be that others are sold
On Internationals, but they leave me cold,
And longing for when
They´re over again
They just never have taken hold

Now maybe the fault lies with me
But Saturdays round about three,
Mean so, so much more
Than if England score
In a match, friendly or unfriendly

Even if a ´Canary´ by name
Should be picked, I´d still feel the same,
Sure I´d wish him well
But that nowt befell
Him, would still be my only aim

And although the honour is great
To play in the country´s next date,
Loyal fans who´re manned
Up and down the land
I´m sure think more of their club´s fate

So here´s hoping those who´re away
Return home unscathed from their fray,
For although a cap
Puts one on the map
We need them fit, each Saturday. OTBC

Excellent as usual RBF. <ok> I'm just the same, particularly over the past few years. The Telegraph's sport section was covered in England football stuff today. Skipped over it all without a second thought.

On the injured players front. It must be frustrating for Manchester United and Van Persie that he has such a brilliant start to the season then it is halted by internationals and then an injury on international duty. It also means that clubs who have had a great start to the season lose momentum suddenly. However it can be good for the teams that have had a bad start to the season and don't lose too many people to international duty so they can improve for after the international break. For me, it's just like a false start. We all get excited about the start of the season then suddenly it all goes for two weeks.

There really has to be something sorted out with regard to international games, there has to be a couple of windows equating to all teams taking part in qualification matches, so that there is a level playing field! When I say ALL teams, I am, ofr course, including Africa in that scenario! As for having friendlies three days before the new season kicks off........don't get me started on that road!

FIFA - brewery - couldn't, could they???

The fact that all the olympic and paralympics were sold out and Wembley was half empty shows how much appetite there is for boring international football the public see more than enough PL and European club football we need to watch something different and more inspiring
