Percy Varco was from down here in Cornwall. Sounds more like a latin insignia for a Public School.
The real legend for me is Dave Stringer. The man was local, Gorleston wasn't it, played 419 games over a 13 year period and then went on to manage us to what is arguably our best ever season. We finished 4th and would have been in Europe but for the Mickey Mousers and maybe if Flecks old man hadn't died we might have made the Cup Final.
And he was a gentleman. So forget all this Holtamania, Huckerbyship etc, this guy paid his dues in spades.
And he talks like us as well bor!

He was a good fella and that's coming from a Townie! What happened to him after Norwich? It must have really pissed him off that old Mike Walker got a huge amount of credit by benefiting from what was Dave Stringer's team!
 
I'm obviously too young to remember him <whistle> but I've heard Kevin Keelan was a bit special, so I'll go for him!

Spot on JWM. He retired in 2001 after several minor jobs with the club. My brother put up the security fencing at Carrow Road and Colney and he said Stringer was in charge of Colney for a while. The least the club could have done.
Keelan was a fantastic keeper but a player only so doesn't rank 1 in my book.
 
I can't be accused of "yoof" and certainly Keelan and Forbes would be up there amongst my front runners.However I do feel that it is going to turn out to be Holt for a combination of reasons. First of those is that at 30 he is far from finished and another three seasons at the top level isn't out of the question.

Secondly the level he is scoring at.!2 goals in 30 games in The Premiership is pretty impressive when you consider that for almost half of those he hasn't played ninety minutes 0.4goals per game is nearly as good as it gets.

Thirdly the quality of his goals,yesterday,Everton,Liverpool.Those three are absolutely top drawer.

Fouthly attitude and committment.Really first class.The seeds of the legend are growing fast.

I'm finding it very difficult to argue with your reasoning CT, and I'm even more of an old git than you!

Nobody has mentioned Barry Butler -- he of the BB Trophy. "He played a total of 349 matches for the club including a consecutive run of 208 games which was only broken because of his appearance in an FA XI side........He was a key member of the Norwich team that won the Football League Cup for the first time, as they beat Rochdale 4–0 in a two-legged final. At the time Butler was considered to be the best un-capped centre-half in the country..........Butler was killed in a car crash on 9 April 1966, at the age of 31". He had just been appointed player-coach at the time, and would probably have gone on to manage the club. Imagine 208 consecutive games!

Most suggestions for CLUB LEGEND are either for a keeper or a centreback. This seems to me to be right. City have prospered when they have top-class players in those positions (as have many other teams). We have had a whole series of quality goalkeepers and CBs and I think the club legend has to come from among them.
