So @Welshie's post is probably highly accurate. I think we'll see a circle, name, date, then I think the badge part of the current one (minus seahorses) with the keep and magpie in black and white will be most likely.

I love the crest cos it's so ****ing weird - 2 horses with fish tails and wind-up keys in their backs attacking a shield with a chess piece on top, while a lion presides I'm said chess pick with a YAY! stance for plonking a flag down.
It's bizarre, but awesome at the same time.
I've got a kit from years ago where the logo is just NUF with the C forming a bridge under those letters, it's awful.
It's hard to print on tops. Interferes with profit margins.Nah **** that. WHY?
Mate they can 3d print food for space…a few seahorses and a lion a top a castle isn’t difficult. It's hard to print on tops. Interferes with profit margins.
It’s probably linked in with cost issues and maximising profit. PB would probably be better to gauge and comment but I would expect that printing the current badge will be more expensive than a simplified version. Then multiply that by a few hundred thousand + shirts.Mate they can 3d print food for space…a few seahorses and a lion a top a castle isn’t difficult.
Digital printing is cheaper than embroidery but would make no difference in costs if it was 1 colour or 10 coloursIt’s probably linked in with cost issues and maximising profit. What about if it’s 11 colours?Digital printing is cheaper than embroidery but would make no difference in costs if it was 1 colour or 10 colours
so no real savings on costs
then that would push the costs sky high if you have a 10 needle embroidery machineWhat about if it’s 11 colours?

Thought so. The tipping point.then that would push the costs sky high if you have a 10 needle embroidery machine![]()

In 23/24 we apparently sold 490,000 shirts. So the cost of shirts will be coming down so we can have a ****e badge?
Rather pay the 87p (or whatever) difference myself!
There’s no real good reason to do it - the only reason I can think is someone associated with the decision is making a lot of money “designing” a new crest.
