I’ve seen that quoted before and contradicts what he said about never being asked. From what I’ve seen money seems to have been the deciding factor with him, he went too far at both Derby and Forest, probably Leeds as well. He didn’t seem to have much loyalty to clubs as Brighton showed. Great player, great manager but gave me the creeps in interviews tbh.
He was also great entertainer imo., a loudmouth at times certainly , but what a player, just out of curiosity , did you ever see him play here, as all the gang that I went with to Roker Park in those days loved him..
I didn't mate, way before my time. I know he was a hero, great player, manager, entertainer, etc ... ... he just grated on me when he was interviewed, just didn't come across as genuine. Anyway, I know he's highly regarded so I'll clear off.
