    I heard the comment and I am fairly certain that he was referring to the players who have already been signed.

    Tricky thing the English language. Just as a missing comma can completely change the meaning of a sentence, so can a missing definite article. Easy for me to say this I suppose, but being Italian, whose first language has at least four words for 'the', I would have thought he'd realise the importance of it.
