I think i'd have gone for Lennon with Allardyce as DOF.

I think Lennon has the capabilities to become a top manager, just think he needs the experience of someone who has been there and done it behind him.

But ultimately I wouldn't have been thick enough to sack Nigel

The reason i think this is a good choice is that at Chelsea he had money and built a very strong squad with it. When he left, the team was in a very good place and that's why I think he is the best option - to build us sensibly under the owners money

Don't forget that he managed Chelsea before they got money - it was because he was so good that Roman bought them and signed bucketloads of players that he had to keep happy by rotating the squad (hence the Tinkerman label that he still has because our media have got nothing else on him).

I do, yes. They've potentially lost hundreds of millions based on the decision to sack Nigel. All, supposedly, for something he didn't do.

Lennon has proven that he can motivate a team, make some shrewd signings and make his teams very hard to beat. Allardyce has proven that he can make some seriously good signings and can keep teams in the Premier League. Lennon could definitely benefit an experienced man like Allardyce, I don't think that can be doubted.

I think we'll see Lennon next season properly. I find it hard to fathom how a manager who has taken his club to the group stages of the Champions League with an un-fancied team, at a young age and beaten a team regarded as the best club side of all time can possibly be called remarkably average...

Lennon with PL stabilisers would work in my opinon.

If we want to get to the next level, we required a manager who could draw some talented players. Im still unsure if Cambiasso will stay, but im more positive than if we had signed someone like Lennon.

It looks as though the owners are willing to invest in more proven talent than take risks looking for gems and they have a manager that may be able to get these kinds of players in.

What I heard was that he was against the owners for sacking his son and the other youth players (who filmed themselves racially abusing hookers and bringing disgrace to not only our club, but to our country as well) and refusing to issue an apology on behalf of the players and staff of the club to the people of Thailand for the insult thus creating friction between him and the owners which combined with all of his antics last season led to his sacking.

Have I got this wrong?

Also Lennon hasn't proven anything - ask any Bolton fan and they are completely neutral about him leaving as all he has done is have the team play long ball to the oldest strikeforce in the league.

All else he has done is be the second horse in a two horse race in Scotland - only winning when Rangers got demoted - and a win over Barcelona that Fraiser Forster got all the credit for.

Again, that you say he needs someone to hold his hand shows that you have no faith in his ability as I do - maybe in the future he will come good, maybe even this season but now, no way.

I for one am happy with CR and will back him as ultimately I am not his or NP's fan, I support Leicester City FC. If all of a sudden it is announced that he is sacked and replaced with Lennon I will openly state that I don't like the appointment but then back him all the way and hope that I am proven wrong.

... I think we need to remember that it is their millions ... and their reasons for sacking Nigel Pearson to me at least appeared to culminate in the Thailand scandal rather than it being the sole reason ...

Ranieri didn't hit my radar of potential succesors until he himself made his interest known ... but it is him now and I'm not resigned to his failing etc ... he has had an incredibly successful managerial career and there is no logical reason why, given sufficient financial backing etc, that he can't continue in that vein ...

I'm amazed anyone can suggest Lennon would have been a better appointment than Ranieri. At best just as much of a risk in my opinion. And talk of Allardyce is redundant as I believe he had ruled himself out anyway wanting more time out of the game.
Now...... As for our owners being "thick" this is ridiculous. Firstly they have not got to where they are as hugely successful business men by being "thick". Pearson got what he deserved ultimately. He got too big for his boots pushed the owners patience once too often it seems. Anyway, this is the last message regarding Pearson I shall make, as he is long gone and in our PAST.
We have so much to look forward to as a Leicester City fan, Premiership football, great owners, great facilities, great future, good manager, hugely talented squad of players. It is what it is, so I for one am moving forward and hold great hope and anticipation for the new season.
Just need Mr Cambiasso to sign up and that will be the icing on the cake for me.

Hell, if he can keep us in 14th from the first to the last day of the season, i'll judge that as a successful season, last season was just too much of a rollercoaster to bare sometimes.

I think the owners see Ranieri as someone who could match 14th and maybe take us further, thats my opinion anyway, the only way he can fail for me is getting relegated.

Why should he apologise for something he hasn't done? The players, being grown ups (supposedly) should and did apologise.

I personally thought that the club could have gone about it all much better. Would we be bothered if Shinji had a go on an English bird? It was awful, yes. But did 4 people with good prospects need to lose their jobs because one person was a bit racist?

First and foremost, it was a mistake to sack Nigel Pearson. I don't think that's a particularly outlandish statement.


I personally would have preferred someone like Lennon who is young, hungry and can get the best out of his team while playing a similar aggressive style of football to ours. With the help (or 'holding hands' as you like to call it) of an experienced director of football. You forget that Bolton were deemed as complete gonners. He came in and signed some good players and kept them up comfortably.

It goes without saying that Ranieri gets my full backing. I just don't see how we're in a better position than we were 1 month ago. In fact, I think we're in a far worse one.

Trouble is I think only Jurgen Klopp would have justified the Thai's decision to sack Nigel.

He got us into the CL BEFORE Roman came along with his gajillions. Then finished 2nd to Arsenal's invincibles and nearly got us into a CL final.
Again, I cannot complain too much about his dismissal, because we got the best manager ever as a replacement.
But I am confident he would have picked up at least one league title with us had he been kept on.

He's been to some fantastic clubs, but has he really had any major success apart from Chelsea and Monaco?

I think Lennon and Alladyce would have been a better match for the club. I'm not suggesting that Ranieri has an inferior CV to Lennon or anything daft like that.

I don't think we'll go down, but I think we'll have a dull and frustrating season culminating in us parting ways this time next summer after a huge compensation pay out leaving us back to square one.

Plus he obviously didn't set a very example as a parent if his sons behaviour is to go by.
