    I think you are right with what you say. Our fans seem to get more bitter and twisted each season, to be fair with the comings and goings we have had to put up with its understandable that fan frustration is going to build. Having said that i do agree 100% with what you say and to turn up at the ground to vent these frustrations at the players rather than support is not acceptable. Like you say the stoke game should have been a celebration of a decent season and it turned into a place i didn't want to be.

    To be fair, it's not just Saints fans, it seems to be the case that pretty much all fans have this huge sense of entitlement.

    But it doesn't upset me if, say, Chelsea or Man U fans want to behave like dickheads. I just hoped we were better than that.

    Bunch of over-indulged soft Southerners. And our fans aren't much better.

    I'd be fascinated to see the stats on the correlation between being at the home game against Rochdale for Nigel's first home game when we were at the bottom end of League one, and being at that Stoke game. All clubs start to pick up dickheads when they become more successful. City are a case in point. I know Mancs who've supported City through thin and thin and they are pissed off with the recruits they've picked up because they have a this sense of entitlement.

    Good post and sorry to be picky but Nige hadn't been appointed by the Rochdale game. I clearly remember people singing 'we want our Pardew back' <laugh>

    Rochdale is also my 'go to' game btw!

    Knowing our fans they probably did sing that after Adkins was appointed after they had all written him off as **** before he had managed one game

    Adkins first game was an away defeat to MK Dons.

    Just checked. It was Colchester (what that isn't Greater Manchester, darn). But my point remains the same. Nigel's first home game and a terrible 0-0 draw - Rickie nearly won it in the last minute, but .. Anyway. The point is we were dire. I remember at the Coventry game at the end of the following season the Northam regulars singing "Where were you when we were ****e?" to those who'd snaffled late tickets after Coventry had returned some. At the time I thought that we shouldn't be nasty to our own fans, but now realise they may have had a point!

    Yep. First game I was on the M6 in Cheshire when it was called off. Bastards! Had to carry on to the in-laws :(

    Not a fun evening when it was played

    I doubt if anyone in January 2017 would have envisaged an English team managed by Claude Puel scoring five goals in one match.

    When Jay Rod scored yesterday, someone immediately came out and said;
    'we shouldn't have sold him blah blah......'
    So along with reminiscing about Claude, I would suggest letting the past die and getting on with the future, looking back now does not help.....and frankly its becoming rather tedious.
