Claude had probably just had time to go through his calendar for next season writing in all 38 fixtures.
Nah, he knew he was gone for about 3 weeks. I wouldn't be surprised if the take over is announced soon and the new manager
Putting him out of his misery clears the decks a little.... new kit, new start tomorrow.... but will be a touch of a drab affair with no manager and 2 of our first team back four wanting out asap.... takeover still to happen.... seems more of a rubber stamping exercise left.... but must be a heavy one to take this long....
Thank you, Claude and best wishes for the future. This has made me sad but also excited for what's to come. Hope he got our card at least, though I doubt we'll ever know. Bon chance, Claude
Look out Swansea - we're going to win every game 7-0 next season. Starting with you! (unless we lose 0-1)
Normally a few minutes would be a tad hasty, but as this has been coming for weeks now should the thread be changed to "New manager thread" or something to that effect.
Bad news, Jim Magilton is currently Northern Ireland U21 manager so unlikely to be joining, despite only yesterday being sacked by Ipswich
Should have been given another year. He didn't coach the players to not score. He didn't have the players.
Other big problem was by the end he didn't have the 'vocal' fans. Created a very negative feel - club had to be seen to do something - in many ways fans are more important than the manager ot the club's long term existance
Cheers Claude, thought the board stitched you up really and you gave it your all. We'll always have Anfield & Inter, all the best. The board *must* back the new man, whoever they may be.
