I still disagree. His hand never moved. The ball ricocheted what, half a yard, in the blink of an eye. How was he supposed to move it out the way?
Any chance you could defend me in court next time I'm up before the Beak? I'm loving your ability to type that with a straight face.
He said that after seeing a video replay at half time. Something he doesn' have the benefit of during the game. He couldn't see clearly so went over and consulted with the linesman. The linesman had a clear view so the blame lies with him if he didn't tell Clattenburg to disallow it.
You must've been in a different away end to me today. I and those around me stood up and cheered the boys on for the whole 90 minutes.
I am a qualified ref too. An amateur yes. But i still think the ball being cleared at that pace, it shouldnt matter whether it hit him in the face, his chest, his knee, or his hand. It wasn't deliberate handball, and there was no intent. He simply wouldnt have known about it. Thats my opinion anyway, wont carry on, food is calling.
Clattenburg didn't think that. He didn't have a clear view and consulted the linesman, who did have a clear view, after protests by City players. So blame the lino for not telling him to disallow it,
No-one's arguing that. The only point being discussed is whether it was a goal and the referee now accepts that it shouldn't have been. Do you?
I wasn't there. Fair play to those who were. Some of you may have stood up and cheered for 90 minutes. But when you watch the game on TV you won't see any great number stood up or hear them.
So you judge the Entire City support from 200 miles away, and only based on the front few rows. What a plum.
Bloody he'll, a 2-0 I went to years ago should have been 1-0 as Waggy scored what he described as a "handy goal". The referee didn't have a video replay, he couldn't see it clearly, he asked the linesman who did have a clear view. He then gave it so it was a goal. There are loads of instances which go for and against you in every game. **** happens. Live with it.
It was a poor decision by Jak to come out as he did and I doubt Clucas would have offered his arm if we weren't chasing the game due to two other very poor decisions by the officials - there was no way the idiot on the line didn't see the hand ball and the red card for Gibbs was the most shocking omission I have seen for a very long time. That result hugely flatters Arsenal who really were nowt special. The only positive I can see is that the guys will be pumped up and determined to put things right in future game - I won't say more winnable games as that game was very winnable with a decent referee in charge.
More than a few rows at the front. Watch the game on TV and see what impression you get. As I said, other teams are stood up in all the seats, they don't seem to enforce sitting down there. We do it voluntarily. Must be the stewards favourite game.
The idea that a handball is only handball if it's deliberate is absurd. If it gives an advantage to the player whose hand was hit, it should be a free-kick. Every time.
I fully accept the goal counted, that's a completely different point. What your trying to avoid admitting is that it was in reality hand ball.
