For me, we always seem to choose the cheapest option and it comes back to haunt us. 2 recent examples I can think of is: We signed altidore at the same time as Swansea signed bony. We saved 8 mill but signed a heap of ****e. This season we signed lens, the mags signed the other Dutch fella. We saved 5 mill, but we all know who got the best deal.
I've got a feeling these lads we're signing will be just what we need. They are Allardyce's choices and I trust in him to know what he's doing. Height, strength and backbone. If we stay up I think we'll see a huge clear out of players which will free up the wage budget and lead to the sort of signings that nobody will complain about.
Signing another forward does appear to be puzzling as we have plenty for the front positions, but as you say maybe not Sam's tactical or ability choices. Add to that the possibility that we have had offers fro Graham and Fletcher amongst others then a plan seems to be emerging. Sam is nobody's fool.

Our number 10 players are **** that's why i reckon Fletch and Graham can't hold up their pants. We can't keep the ball high up the pitch so it always comes straight back and our defence are back under pressure. It's a back to basics singing for a team which needs to go back to basics. I trust Sam in what he's doing, only question is will has the budget allowed him to bring the quality in to do it? We'll see. Looking forward to seeing the the two new lads and will be willing them on.
Speak as I find. I thought he was good lad until his little tirade. But as a person i've met a few times face to face I expect him to be able to say to my face what he says to me on here. Which is why I want to see him face to face. No bridges to be burned with me, but I want to look him in the eye tell him I don't appreciate him abusing me over my learning disability. Whatever happens from there is down to him. He can stand by his comments and say them to my face, apologise or leave it up in the air.

The trouble I have on these boards now is that something can be written sensibly but then a bit of attitude with cocky replies complety destroys the thread and sends it off into different tangents.. Like you say though, in reality it is a different world. I have met you and feel I know you enough, I haven't met Gordon but he has Pm'd me and I think he is a lad with a good heart, so hopefully the flummery and self-non-importance of other attitude merchants haven't got you going for each others throats.. That wouldn't be good news at all..
The only person whos given me and Gordon problems is Gordon. It didn't happen off the back off a cocky back and forth. I posted the match thread, he didn't like something in it and he attacked me. Grandpops said he was out order so he edited it but I saw his original comments in Grandpops quote. Now somebody is trying to make me out to be a bully because I asked for substance and Gordon is supporting his comments. He's behaving like a snide little **** house. Not impressed.
We have got a few forwards but, apart from Defoe obviously, Sam will be looking at them and internally despairing. We don't have one forward who we can pass to and the ball will stick to and hopefully the porno tached N'Doye is going to fill that hole, er, role.
