    Very sad news.

Here's hoping he pulls through, thoughts are with the family.

I've just exchanged messages with a mate who also used to run the football project with him. He's still in touch with Clarke and his wife Gemma. He said Clarke should be fine, and that he was just on his way somewhere when he was hit. All the media crap about his past and it being seriously life threatening is just for a good story. It is serious, but not life threatening which is good to hear.

Yes, injuries described as 'not life threatening' on Radio 4 just now. Good news.

Blimey. Only just read this thread. I've gone from him being critical following a suicide attempt and imagining the worst scenario to reading that it looks like he will be ok. Huge relief for him and his family. I'm hoping that it was just an accident and he will go on to make a good recovery. All the best Clarke.

Intelligent and articulate athlete who's a credit to the game of football. He's had his problems, and this is yet another. Best wishes to him and his family. I hope his injuries won't be life changing.

Relieved to hear that it's not as bad as first thought (or media hyperbole made it).

Hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Clarke's very poorly but he's alive and stable. Best Christmas gift we as a family could wish for. Thanks again.

Hope all ends well and that he was out jogging, which was my initial thought (hope).
