IMO hit the nail on the head when he was talking about our blip. He said it's done, review where you are now and push on. For once I agree with him. We are in great shape and all our remaining games are very winnable.

Top flight here we come!

Morning Lamb!

I noticed this as well last night and thought it was good hearing him talk about us positively.

I am not saying any game is easy but yes every game of football is winnable if we come at teams from the start as we did yesterday we will always have a chance.

We need to do that in every game cause that has been lacking lately and its been taking us 30mins to get into a game normally by which time we are trailing thus making it more difficult.

I like everything Claridge says and he offers a lot of well-balanced insight. Why people persist in chastising the guy I do not know. He has always been very complimentary of us.

People tend not to see beyond the fact he played for Pompey, which is very short sighted and unfair because he is a good pundit. I like him.

Claridge has been consistant in his compliments about us all year. Try to forget his fishy past and give the guy a break

He summed up about 50 threads of doom and gloom versus optimism on here! One of the better pundits on the box but that isn't hard!

Yh I dont get all the hate for him hes probably the most positive person about us in the media. I dont personally find him very interesting to listen to but he is a decent pundit and very fair to us. The point about the form was good aswell, I wonder how different the mood of the supporters would be if we just had been consistent, ie pretty good the whole season no purple patches or blips would people then be more positive?

didn't see the FLS last night, just tried finding it on the red button no joy though,
when is it avaible on the iPlayer?

I watched it on iPlayer at about 10 this morning, no problem. Anyway, I agree with what others have said about Claridge, he doesn't seem at all anti-Saints this season. What he said was spot on, and could almost have come from the mouth of Nigel Adkins.

Agreed. Decent pundit, who always has good things to say about ut. I don't agree with Lamballana saying "for once".

Earlier in the season Claridge said he had seen us several times and thought Saints were the real deal. Contrary to what people think, he seemed to take pleasure in saying it. Think he knows about and enjoys good football when he sees it. He's right about drawing a line under recent matches: the fact is we are second and should treat the coming games in isolation.

In reply to the OP's post, I don't agree that Claridge is right for once. He's been pretty much right every time I've heard him talk about Saints. In fact, the only subject on football where I've felt he was a little shaky was in discussing the QPR situation, season end 2010-11, and the 3rd party ownership of Alejandro Faurlin. And even then he was probably more right than most TV & Radio commentators, IMO.

On the whole, I have found Claridge to be clear, accurate and balanced in his considered comments. He tries to be as unbiased as possible, despite playing a passionate sport for le god knows how many years, and is far more eloquent and analytical than most of the other pundits on TV & Radio.

i have met Claridge a few times in the past,as he is a friend of a friend, and whenever i have spoke to him, have found him to be a nice bloke, despite being a Skate. On TV he does often come across as being a bit boring, but he is quite a good laugh away from the cameras.

What do you mean "for once"? Didn't Claridge defend you earlier in the season when you were on the BBC and Shearer and whoever the hell was hosting said you weren't good enough to be at the top of the league? Why dont you just give him the credit he deserves as a pundit already?
