About 2 years ago in the run up to Christmas I was shopping in Tesco, Kingston Park and at the checkout I was in front of Peter Beardsley. The girl on the till shortchanged me of ã5 and couldn’t open the till until the next customer went through – so Peter gave me the ã5 – he really is a canny bloke! About 30 years ago at a hairdressers in Park Lane I was sat opposite a fella while both having our hair washed, none other than Freddy Starr (think he must have been appearing at Sunderland Empire).
