What did you think of the thread over there telling Sandgaard to grow a pair. Was that ****y? I am glad that Reams has changed the title.
I think there's a competition running you-know-where, to find which member can express the lowest opinion of fellow supporters and Thomas Sandgaard. Slagging off Bowyer won't score you any extra points though - he's too easy a target.
The trouble with getting rid of Bowyer is that it is not a cure all. What if the new Manager comes in and does worse than Bowyer? Will Reams want that person gone too.
After all the stuff he's posted earlier in this thread, you'd think it unlikely. But stranger things have happened. ITTV has three other Mods already. If & when the time comes one of them would get the caretaker job I should think. I don't know technically how Proboards works, but in some other board formats only the original creator ever has ultimate control of the board. If he retires from the scene a senior moderator can run the outfit indefinitely, but will lack the access to shut it down. And the creator (admin) can return whenever they wish of course.
Time for this forum to move on from its obsession with ITTV in general and Old Reamsy in particular. I've been saying this for years. CL has a rule that you don't discuss other forums, and when i said that I liked this rule I was shot down in flames by Elfs and Royston, and now that Royston has crossed the floor it should be easy enough to kick the habit.
Agreed. On compromise, we should have one daily update, and in return each poster is allowed one comment.
A little belatedly I have removed the old poll from the top of this thread and reclassified it. (Also, I merged the "Wrexham or Cardiff" thread into it). I think for much of its life, this thread was enjoyed most by Royston and Elfs, though several other members (myself included) have contributed, and for my part I cannot say I haven't enjoyed reading much of it. Though I appreciate the sentiment of moving on, as you gents may know I'm not one nowadays for trying to uphold too many rules. I like a forum to be generally free and easy, casual and relaxed if possible. The only rule we really have on here now is that non-Charlton subjects are restricted to one thread each. When it comes to not discussing other Charlton fans' forums, I think that this is something that is easier to square if your forum is a large or medium sized one. CL has no need to discuss other forums as none come even remotely close to matching it for sheer size, or variety of topics. They don't discuss CL on ITTV because Reams hates the people who run it, and that's fair enough. ITTV is his creation, he gets to make the rules. (also I think in the past, some refugees from CL on ITTV would post nothing but copied clips of stuff being posted on CL in order to ridicule it, to the point where Reams got fed up and stopped it, rightly so in my view). Here on Not606 we are a small community. And as such, we naturally don't generate as much internal discussion as larger forums. So I feel it's good if we allow ourselves some external sources of chat, especially perhaps during quiet times. Some of the Charlton related stuff we discuss also comes our way via CL or ITTV. We have mates or acquaintances who are mostly based on those forums rather than this one. And there are certainly characters on those forums who some of us like to read, for whatever reason. I wouldn't like us to restrict ourselves by not being able to occasionally mention things going on elsewhere on forums, even if the intention is only to have a light-hearted pop every now and then. Just my thoughts. One additional thought too; I'm not sure Royston's move to ITTV and away from here will last forever. Very few things do. So if / when he does return (and even if it is in plain contradiction to his disapproval of any non-Charlton threads here) I imagine Royston will once more like to avail himself of the opportunity to make a few wry observations about what's going on among our Proboards cousins.
