Minus Ridiculous and Bexley who are wums in very different ways, Mundain Mundell who supports Ridiculous for the hell of it, the Apologists are VERY restless today. As for the shelf stacker
Let me guess. It's all Sandgaard's fault, and CL's fault, and Charlton fans' fault. Any pitch invasions being planned? Or beatings down dark alleys? Or maybe a meet & greet in hospitality, with a few vol-au-vents and a glass of bubbly?
Oh dear. It looks like a suggestion that we might not now spend much money in January, but instead wait until some future summer, hasn’t gone down too well. This is all so predictable. It truly amazes me how anyone cannot see that SE7 partners alleged strategy WILL NOT work. They are just a cheap version of Roland and Thomas (and I mean cheap in terms of player acquisitions, not management salaries). Apparently it’ll all be alright if/when the FFP rules change in the Championship at some point in the undefined future. NEWSFLASH TO SE7 PARTNERS - we are not and are never likely to be, in the Championship under your cheapskate plans.
Seriously Ridiculous will be saying let's see where we are next week when we're 4 points from relegation safety with 1 game to go
The shelf stacker reckons he's been in contact with Charlie boy today regarding our situation More porkies than you get from a butchers methinks.
According to Reams we have £1M to spend in the January window. Whilst this may be factually true, we all know you can present the same information in many different ways. I think almost certainly this is just recycled money which has been saved from elsewhere on players wages, letting players go, returning dud loans, player sales etc. It CANNOT be new money as we were already over our SCMP limit for costs and the owners are not willing to put in non-refundable donations, plus revenues have fallen due to lower crowds. And whilst some are celebrating Charlie Kirk’s departure and saying that that will free up wages, I’m afraid that simply isn’t true. He would have had to be paid off for him to walk away from his contract and any payments we have made or have agreed to make to him still get included in our SCMP costs, so as we didn’t sell him and end his contract that way, it will not help. Some people just don’t get it. And in any case £1M wouldn’t scratch the surface of what we actually need to spend to become competitive.
Getting decent players in preparing for next season should be the objective, but I am sure we'll see another bunch of duds.
Right. Preparing for next season is all we can do now. In January in a seller's market £1m (even if we have it) would get one decent player. Charlton are 14 points off 6th place. One decent player is not going to make up that deficit, or allow Charlton to succeed in the play-offs even if we scraped in. Look at the teams in there at the moment. All of them stringing 2, 3, 4 victories or more together. They have strong teams playing great football. Charlton cannot win twice in a row. Even Cheltenham have just done that. Our away form is embarrassing and even at home we are dreadful. We should be concentrating on retaining our few good players for the 2024-25 campaign. But I don't think we will even achieve that. SE7 are full of tax avoiding bullsh*t. That is self-evident by now. They won't even show their faces.
Colin Sams is polluting social media tonight, fans are unhappy and he's saying polar opposite to views. A very sad individual.
It is as clear as day that the shelf stacker was the mouthpiece for Charlie boy, why is a very good question. Now that he has been f***** off with a VIP day out(with train expenses) for the Orient home game and he's no longer required perhaps he can indulge us with some 'facts'.
Ivor has opened up a thread saying that he wants the club he supports to lose all their games, not liking the Americans and getting out of non-league after 15 seasons. #madasahatter.
I can relate to that, though it does surprise me a bit. I was under the impression that Wrexham's rise to fame was going down well in those quarters. If I was a Wrexham fan though I would not like what those American actors have done to it. Buying success only hurts and undermines the whole sport, whether it's Man City in the Premier League or Wrexham in the Conference. Titles and trophies bought (rather than earned) have no value. Personally I'm glad to see Salford City struggling as well. Clubs built up as vanity projects, playthings for the wealthy and powerful, are worthy of nothing more than pity in my view. Wrexham FC might have been non-league but they had their pride and their history. Now they're a side-show on Disney+ and they don't get any credit for anything they do. Other Clubs laugh at them. If something similar happened in SE7 I would be furious about it. Years ago the admin on ITTV was all for a Red Bull take-over at the Valley. But that would have been just as much of a disaster. These rich owners and caffeine franchises suck the identity out of football Clubs. Free Wrexham!! Hollywood OUT
It does make me laugh that a certain individual who was posting derogatory remark after derogatory remark on my old Forum is now thanking Reams for letting him back on his Forum.
If you're referring to Royston, nobody else in history has ridiculed, lampooned and belittled Reams as much from other forums (including this one). Just goes to show what you can get away with if you are shameless enough Royston is 'box office' on forums. And nobody likes a bit of forum box office and drama more than the Admin of ITTV
Although very stubborn on reappearing here, I said I would waive the £1000 return fee, particularly as he's feeling the pinch nowadays
DubaiCAFC on Charlton Life is telling us that the fans are responsible for individual signings of players You can picture the boardroom now, yep @Smudger603 and @lardiman have said they are not going to The Valley again if we do not sign Clarke-Harris. Ffs, some people post drivel. Another one being fed s*** from wherever. What is it about fans living out of the country being fed info to pass on social media?
The notion that fans have any influence over players' decisions to sign for a Club is ridiculous. There are some real factors to consider - location, family preferences etc. We know some players prefer to live & play in the North, others in the South. And of course money is a big factor. Wages, personal terms etc. But fans opinions? Laughable None of us have said one bad word about JCH anyway. He's a really decent player. We're laughing at the mere notion that the shysters who run CAFC now would be capable of signing him. If we did sign him by some miracle I would happily eat plenty of humble pie. It would be great to have him in the squad. But it's a pipe dream and a deliberate deception by SE7, who know we won't get him.
I can’t see how we can sign him. We were up to our salary limit already, crowds have fallen and we haven’t shifted enough wages to leave that sort of headroom. Remember, despite what you read elsewhere, Kirk doesn’t count because we would have had to pay him off and that expenditure counts towards our salary costs. So unless the investors have changed their strategy then we can’t afford a £500K signing on fee plus about £350K/£400K in wages. It’s boll*cks.
