Really? The Dortmund defence had a shocker imo, were it not for some dodgy Robben finishing it could have been 3 or 4 to Bayern.

They tired at the end, but did you not see Hummels and Subotic mopping up all night ? what about Subotic's clearance off the line ? To say they had a shocker is a bit harsh in my opinion.

I think Hummels has been getting a tad overrated recently. Great with the ball, but he makes a fair number of errors which usually don't get pointed out.

Dortmunds problem was Schmeltzer. He was dreadful, all Bayern's attacks seemed to come from his side.

That left back, Alaba, was exceptional for Bayern. Don't know if he was mentioned, but he kept Blaszycowski quiet all night and gave Bayern width in attack.

The game changed when Bayern pushed their full backs forward imo. Dortmund couldn't cope.

    And yes, Hummels is overrated.

how fortunate were Bayern not to go down to 9 men. Lewandowski got penalised for what looked like good strength against Dante in the 1st half which would have seen him in on goal, and why was his spectacular effort in the 2nd half disallowed, was it Handball or offside I missed that, guess Dortmund know how Bayern felt when they played Chelsea.

Anyone who thinks Dortmunds defence is poor obvioulsy dont watch German Football.

Consider they are an ATTACKING side that play a high line.

In 2011- 2012 they conceded on 21 League goals (We conceded 49)
    In 2010 - 2011 they conceded 24 league goals (We conceded 44)

Anyways that was one of the best Finals I can remember in a long time.

I'm talking about Dortmund's current defence, I have no idea why you're posting these stats from last year and the year before. They conceded 42 goals this year in the league.

Lewa's goal was disallowed for handball.

I felt Dortmund should have had another penalty (Pisczek was pulled back in the box in the 1st half) and Dante should have been sent off, he was on a yellow when he fouled Reus for the penalty, and it was a pretty bad challenge.

On the flipside though, Lewandowski should have been sent off for stamping on Boateng.

What a final though, that's what happens when you let the Germans loose.

Also, Klopp's comments after the game were good. Joking that he now has to build a new team because everyone wants to sign all his current players.

And it's not like the Bundesliga is competitive below the top few teams either. Our defense would probably be as good as Dortmund's in that league.

TheBear, Hummels is not the answer to our prayers. There's always a mistake in him. I'm not just basing this on today either. Also you talk about Dortmund's defense as a whole. I won't deny Subotic is a good player, and their full backs are very hard working.
