It's a bit like the arms dealer who sells nerve gas to the Assad regime.

Let's not worry about the details of how we got our cash chaps, just sit back and enjoy the spoils of our riches

An extreme example maybe, but you get the point.

its easy to say " i dont want to discuss money " , when both your teams have some of the richest men in the world subsidising you .

ok the only way to be fair is to have a level playing field, in that all teams spend the same on players & wages. in fact a salary cap on the total amount spent by clubs. it aint going to happen at the moment as the money is all divided up wrong. i read somewhere that Cardiff will earn more this year in being relegated than United earnt last year for winning the league. wtf.

the clubs get paid untold millions by TV rights and yet it almost all goes to the players in wages. no other business would spend 96% of its income in such a manner. why aren't all the clubs making money well its simple they spend it on agents fees to buy mediocre players and pay them obscene amounts of money.

it would only take a majority of the clubs to vote in a salary cap, and it would serve them all in the long run. otherwise only a small number of clubs will ever be able to win the title and you get the situation were some clubs are just happy to be in the league and not win it, and thats not great for fans. for example we are happy to be in CL but will never win it as we don't have the resources to win it as squad is not big enough.

if the result of the league is a foregone conclusion [like in scotland] then eventually the TV money goes. PL clubs need to be wary of that.

we should be more like american sports were any team if managed well have a chance of winning as they all have to adhere to a salary cap.

    Completely agree.
But, as you say, it will never happen, and in the unlikely event that it did players would just up sticks and move to Spain, Italy, France, Russia or anywhere the money is, it could only work if it was a EUFA initiative/rule and that lot are as weak as piss.....

yes they could bring in something like Financial Fair Play that would limit what you can spend on players so that you don't spend and buy players with money you don't earn, and if you didn't adhere to the FFP you wouldn't be allowed to compete with the teams that did. that would work..........

oh i forgot they brought it in and then DIDNT ****ing do anything with it.

perhaps if City get away without being punished then Usmanov should then buy out Silent Stan and spend £1billion on players and we will have the best team in the world, and we would win everything, but would it make us happy

Some would crack open the champagne gooner, I prefer the way Arsenal run themselves because not only have we created guaranteed sustainability any success we do get will be well earned, deserved and mean so much more....

If we invested a billion quid like the chavs and city and then won the league after that I'd feel like it was a hollow victory. Especially seeing as we're so close to being able to do it now on the back of our own merit and hard work.
