Jordan Mutch is a very good comparison. However, in the absence of a McPhail/Whitts type at the club and the unlikelyhood of us getting one in January, Colwill is the best option we've got in that role. If given the spot regularly, rather than playing him out wide, he could make a huge difference playing others in. Watters would be a huge beneficiary if he was brought back in january, and although Moore and Collins are a different type of striker, they can both make runs that just need that final pass - something we've lacked since Camarasa left.
Ahh Camerasa, there's someone we could do with having back.... Anyone know what kind of a role Wintle is playing at Blackpool? I've seen the rave reviews but is he a feeder as well as a grafter?
Brizz - I believe Wintle is more of "No.6" rather than a natural "10" or even a deeper lying "8". We already have Ralls and Vaulks in that role with Pack playing even deeper. Pack is a bit like a sweeper in front of the defence rather than behind it. Is he better than Ralls or Vaulks in our set up, or even youngsters Bowen and King? The only way we'll get to find out is to haul him back. I worry that although Blackpool appear to be doing quite well, he's actually a bit of a star in an over-achieving side. We beat them comfortably up there and I don't think they'll sustain their form nor maintain their table position with or without Wintle.
That was pretty much what I believed him to be, but wasn't sure if the Tangerines had managed to morph him into a more dynamic player whilst there. It's kind of a shame that Tomlin has gone. Would have been interesting to see if he'd have maintained his fitness more to play in a more expensive City team... Absolutely still the kind of player we now need.
It is a shame about Tommo. Had his injury problems, but I fear half his troubles were his battles within himself. I think Colwill could be the answer to that loss - and the quicker we find out the better. We ain't going to buy anyone else for that spot this season, so give him a go.
https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...at-happening-cardiff-citys-forgotten-22453826 No goals and one assist in 20 games. Says a lot
Apart from some very occasional flashes of success he’s been a major disappointment and ultimately a waste of money.
We picked the wrong twin. Jacob is doing well at Newcastle and had another good game last night when he came on for Wilson,
Wintle didn't feature for Blackpool again last night nor was he on the bench - that's the last two games now. Haven't found anything about him being injured nor covid related- I think he's coming back.
Also saw this at the bottom of the Beeb report on that Blackpool/Boro game............. Referee: Steve Martin Attendance: 30,428 ..................when did Blackpool rebuild Bloomfield Road to get that many in? I thought it was about 16K tops.
