Not at all, he played reasonably well and took his goals brilliantly but Long and Jela are still far superior footballers. Remember that this was against a league 2 side. The second goal particularly would not have been scored in the Premier League. I think we should keep Matty unless we get another striker on loan to replace Graham (who doesn't deserve to be in our squad), but he isn't good enough to start for us ahead of the top class players we have just brought in.
Nice runs and finishes for both goals by Matty. We should hang on to him. Looks like his confidence and form are back.

we are in a relegation battle.. Fryatt doesn't instill me me with confidence. has to be Jelavic or long for me..... maybe even both, depending on the formation.
We should all be glad for Fryatt but none of us should be crazy enough to suggest that he start in a PL game.
Good to have a fringe player pushing for the first team. I agree Fryatt shouldn't start against Palace, but goals are the best tonic for a striker and Matty could make his mark as a sub.
Don't care tbh, let them know they can't walk into the team. Jelavic looked slow at Norwich and Long's unlikely to be fully-fit, Fryatt just bagged a brace and of the three, Fryatt would currently be my favourite to finish a goal scoring opportunity.
