All I will say is glad I don’t make the trek to the gate this season-absolutely bored stiff watching what has been served up.

Me too but I miss meeting up with my mates and having a proper drink and Clarks pie.

As a proud Bristolian I have always been aware of the Welsh origins of this humble pie.

In fact I was working a lot in South Wales during the 90's and one of my Welsh counterparts said " I am going to you take for an experience that you will never forget But " he was amazed when I told him that I had been brought up on them as a kid and to the present day, I think he thought they were only available in South Wales.

Clarks are the best pies ever, in my younger life I worked for another famous Welsh pie company, Thomas's Merthyr, they had a depot in Longell Green and I used to deliver & sell from Newport in Gwent, through Chepstow and Bulwark, to Lydney and the Forest of Dean, returning daily back to Bristol, 6d pies and pasties, brilliant company and an enjoyable job, except the Gwent police and speeding, they were sharp.

"2 teas and 2 pies please" …. used to have an old, small handbag to put the pies in whilst dodging the crowd heading for the open end vendor … where to? Ashton gate of course … some were a bit drippy ! Didn't there used to a Clark's pie shop in Bedminster? or definitely a shop specializing in them...

Again Diedhou saved the day from what could have been a shocker and try as hard as I can to believe in my team the fact remains that we aren't going to progress with the current players and apparently some of their individual attitudes are not where they need to be. Regrettably this is the mindset of City and it will be a wonder if anyone shows up to watch the usual dross when the crowds are let back in to watch and is there any wonder left to whet the appetite? We have regressed to the point we were at under GJ when it appeared the the players didn't give a rat's bottom about the club and it's supporters and the result of that apathy was clearly visible all over the pitch. If we continue playing like this under any manager we will face the consequences and it's not just the way we struggle against supposedly weaker teams like Wycombe but the whole set-up will never get us to where Lansdown claims he wants us to be in the future unless he wakes up to reality. A win it was indeed but give me a break from this disorganized mess and below par performances.

Diedhou is one of the current players who doesn’t gel with anybody when he’s in the team. A current player who should move on.

Handbag? Have you logged onto the wrong account

I just watched the highlights and we should have been out of sight by half time. Wells is so out of form at the moment.... Their goal was another lucky deflection, we have been undone a few times in recent weeks with goals like that against us.

NO, try carrying 2 pies in a paper bag and 2 hot cups of scalding tea through a crowd hellbent on getting to where you are just leaving from, at halftime .. in them days 60's there wernt many bags that were not paper …

Only saw the highlights - such as they were.

Looked like we were very wasteful in front of goal yet again and we let Wycombe back into the game.

We are however unbeaten in any home Boxing Day fixture since 1962 when we lost 1-2 to Brighton.
Every cloud and all that.....

in North Street opposite the Tobacco Factory.
A small unimposing doorway - easy to miss.
Yep checked on street wise, is the pasty like a true Cornish [ lumpy] or like the crap that Company from Cornwall, GINSTERS, serves up available in most supermarkets, like a regurgitated real pasty!

in the back of my mind you had to step up a bit to get served [ not level with street? ]

I would personally say nothing like a traditional Cornish pastie, but still really nice IMHO.

My missus got the pie maker out today and I have 6 mini beef and potato pies and a curry pastie to pig out on over the next few days.
