Nope, they just take your yearly TV Licence money and spunk it on everything but a decent service.

A little OT, but does anyone use/watch any of the BBC products/services to warrant the cost. I literally may watch MOTD on the odd occasion. I think the licence is reviewed every 10 years whether to keep, of which it happened last around 5 years ago, so stuck with it a little while longer.

I use the website a lot, as I suspect most sports fans do. Combine that with the radio channels (6 Music, 5 Live, Humberside), the sports highlights (MOTD, FL Show, SL Show), live F1, challenge cup, RU internationals and the few decent comedy programs its not too bad.

It does annoy me though when they pay extortionate amounts for nothing programs, like £20 million + for the rights to make The Voice.

I take your point, I do use some of the online football news and maybe a bit of cricket stuff, but for the others I just don't use them...although that is my choice not to. You are right, they blow millions on TV shows and soaps so the drones can sit in front of box. I would sooner they have adverts and did away with the charge to joe public.

At the end of the day, just utilise the add break to get another beer.....well, send the Mrs to the fridge :bandit:

I agree, I really hate the concept that if you want to watch any TV channel on any network you have fund the BBC or face being prosecuted, its not a nice concept especially when as you say so much of that money is wasted on absolute dross or on huge salaries for mangers/executives.

I do use some of their services but like you, I'd much rather they funded them themselves through advertising revenue, rather than force everyone to pay for something they have no control over.

Does anyone still watch anything on commercial TV live? ( Excepting football of course)

Record it and just skip the adverts.

I'm amazed advertising on TV is still lucrative.

    It shouldn't be.

If it wasn't, there'd be nothing for you to record.

Trencin played well. Their work rate was fantastic and they closed us down well, especially, in the second half.

Still we won. Onwards & upwards.
