My opinion is that even if you had your full squad , player for player you wouldnt have the quality to match us , I said on here before the game that if we play how we can then it wouldnt matter what you do ... met some nice Hull fans today , think steve Bruce is doing a good there so good luck for the season , and the majority of Saints fans dont think that we will finish top four , but we are very underestimated by many teams fans and are better than many think .
You guys certainly did a number on Liverpool , a few weeks ago. Very well organised and focussed . Not a bad stadium you have yourselves either.
yes it was a nice game to be at ...and yeah st Marys is nice , similar to many others and often branded as "flatpack stadium" but I like it there haha . Haven't been to the KC so cant comment on that .Hope that you had an easy trip back
Hang on, you are doing to us what you say others do to you. We are without four or five of our main starters. I'm not taking anything away from your performance today, but we are at a low player wise.
No I'm not , I have lots of respect for Hull and think you have had a great start , im also aware that you have players out (5 you say) I met some nice fans of yours today , which made me like you even more , all i said is my opinion and i stand by it . I think that the saints team is underestimated by many and as i say in my opinion (that doesn't mean it has to be yours ) even if you had all 5 of those fit and healthy , if saints play at there best and how they can i dont think that you could match it . Would i replace any of saints strongest 11 for any of hulls strongest 11 .....NO but that doesnt mean im being cocky as im really not I just feel we are a stronger team . really wasnt being arrogant
Nice game to watch...other than the result. Southampton are a class outfit. Their passing in the first half was Barcaesque...very hard to stop. Harper's mad challenge was the turning point....absolutely no need for it. And his positioning on Lailana's goal was poor but the defense should never have let him through. Sagbo is getting better every game. Ball control and movement are Prem quality and his goal was a cracker. But why did SB bring Graham on? Did he even touch the ball...did he even try.? He has no movement off the ball whatsoever and we would have been better off with 10 men...certainly with Gedo on (whatever his fitness level). I don't want to be too critical of the guy....but WHAT does he bring to the team???? Thudd really ran his socks off for the cause today...he probably knew Roy was in the stands. Davies unfortunately had his poorest game of the season. The two week rest will do him good. Thank goodness we have Palace next to regroup and get back on the winning track.
Good post at first and then you start moaning about Graham again. You do this in every post. He really is the boo boys favourite now isn't he?
He really isn't. It's pathetic everyone jumping on the Graham bandwagon just cos the media and Sunderland fans say so. The fact he's scored goals and done well at this level is irrelevant I guess.
i canny care less if he scored a year ago, it's about the now, he's gonna go full 2013 of nae goals! just accept he's ****e
So it is just the goals you're basing this on then? Your understanding of the game must be excellent.
no, but why be so blinded, yes he has good link up play, but he's no better than gedo for example, but gedo has the lethal strike amongst his game are you really blinded than you think graham should be our player because he holds the ball up well? since he went out, sagbos excelled, and sagbo looks in another world compared to graham, and they WON'T play together regularly, he's not even OUR own player... and don't forget HE'S STILL A ****ING STRIKER YE CANNY EXCUSE NO GOALS IN A YEAR
Bruce's reaction Thudds reaction Very honest and totally true.
Err no I think they're totally different players. I can see that Sagbo spends large periods of games doing nothing, ends up in **** positions for receiving a cross and goes down too easily when he could carry on and score, but his finishing is bloody excellent. Gedo, from what we saw last season is a pure poacher. He has a bit of pace and the like but you really want him in the area getting on the end of crosses and grabbing the tap-ins. Graham is always involved and linking up but he's never involved in the chances. Doesn't help that we create so few this season but that's where Sagbo has succeeded in the last few games; scoring with very few chances. I'd pick Sagbo over Graham next game don't get me wrong, but I don't think Graham is **** at all. He's done **** all wrong for us in fact.
In the general run of play Graham looks tidy, but whenever he needs to be clinical he falls to bits, whether to set up a chance, break free or actually score. There was an instance today where he as good as fumbled his way through the saints defence, all he needed to do was carry on with his momentum and he'd have had clear sight of goal from just inside the box, but for some strange reason he decides to pass, and even worse he passed without looking - to absolutely bloody no one, quite literally there was not a single one of our players within about 50 or 60 feet at least in the direction the ball was going. It also doesn't help that he has the touch of a rapist, how many good positions has he pissed away with poor ball control? I was very happy to see him sign but he does just look completely off it, like some players just click and improve seemingly overnight like Ramsey this season for example, Graham seems to have done the opposite. Ill finish by expressing my relief that Guly Do Prado was unavailable today. I think if Saints had his lethal attacking potency and subliminal skill on the pitch today it would have been a cricket score. I hope he gets back soon though so he can single handedly take points off our relegation rivals.
Was fearful of how we'd play without Guly, but we adjusted well to his loss. Sometimes having a superstar go down can be a benefit in the short-term...others cannot slack and wait for him to ride to the rescue, and players learn a little something about their capabilities. Still, we'll certainly miss his pace, flair, and predatory instincts in the box.
Were simply outplayed by a better team, we need to accept it, dust ourselves off, and move on. Palace looking to have come into a bit of form so important not to underestimate them.
