I know why, but let's not pretend he was given any credit when he got results. Essentially I'm taking issue with people getting arsy if howes criticised when they were doing much worse with previous managers.. it was criticise no matter what.

I said under Bruce that managers should get credit when things go well and vice versa, but folders wouldn't have it and neither would most because they just couldn't find it within themselves.

It should be balanced and it's just being fair.

Yes I seen the statement she put out. But she meant it. And the players even said it themselves didn’t they.

I said at the time that people misunderstood her and jumped in with both feet and I was correct. She has had to come out apologise because the mob were out all over social media rubbing salt into Bruce's wounds.

It's really vindictive nasty stuff at this point.

The media will always look to make Staveley look bad for the crime of trying to make Newcastle good, worrying them and impacting their limbic systems.

    It's really that simple.

Half these ****s will be the same people that came out acting like Mother Theresa when they'd pushed Caroline Flack to suicide.

I don't think the Club will sack him before the end of the season. A stance I would agree with. I'm not sure what the stats say now but until recently we had the most player days lost due to injuries for Clubs in the PL this season. Combined with the loss of Tonali this has not unnaturally had a big impact on a slowly developing squad.

Also there is no way I want Jose or Rafa. They are yesterday's news. If EH is to be replaced I would want someone younger and up and coming who plays an attacking progressive style of football and who will look for tomorrow's players and not simply rely on a cheque book. I think the Club are of the same view especially when looking at the upcoming version of FFP.

I think EH will be given the start of next season and as is always the case it will depend upon what then happens. I agree with that as well.

General progress will be expected by the Club and then the Club will consider all factors on an ongoing basis to determine EH's position. Again I agree with that.

I genuinely believe that the Club is being well run overall and we don't do knee jerk. That doesn't mean that the Club aren't ambitious just that they realise its a long term project and that success on a long term basis is not an over night thing given all the hurdles.

On that basis the Club won't sack EH until they believe he's under performing taking everything into context AND that somebody better is there ready to take over. Again I agree with that.

So, I don't think he will be sacked until approaching Christmas at the earliest and depending upon what and how he does maybe not even then.

I do think there exists some concerns but that would be the case with every manager except if I was appointed. Then I would know there wouldn't be any real concerns. For example all managers have favourites, all managers make tactical mistakes etc. Listening to some on here you would think that that only applies to EH.

They do all make mistakes. The difference is can they learn from them.

Howe doesn’t seem to be learning from the mistakes.

The Burn situation is the one I find the most baffling.

But ultimately he’s done a good job. Just this season has gone horribly wrong and while I accept we have had injuries and the Tonali situation I think we still should have done better.

I think it all depends on the remainder of this season. Howe needs to win at least 5 of the 10 games remaining.

I don't think this season has gone 'horribly wrong'.

I always expected a step back from last season.

We were 'robbed' of a next phase of European football by a really poor refereeing decision.

We reached the QF of the League Cup despite drawing Man City and Man Utd and Chelsea the latter of which was lost in almost the last minute of real time.

We reached the QF of the F A Cup going out to Man City away.

We are 10th in the PL (which is slightly disappointing) after a horrendous season of injuries and Tonali missing with still the possibility of reaching European football next season.

Not the season we wanted but definitely not one that has gone horribly wrong.

When EH first came I openly said I hope he's still here in 20 years - and openly explained the logic that would mean he'd been successful and built a legacy, like Fergie at Man United. Otherwise the owners would be shot of him sooner.

If he is a stepping stone, it's not yet the time to replace him. Hear me out wetters...

Despite CL football this year, we are still very much in the early transition phase - and as CC loves to remind us, we still have lots of Ashley's "dross" in the squad.

There is still more work to be done on building up the squad and the club more generally.

Right now, which highly experienced managers, with proven PL and/or CL success on their CV will come here right now? My guess is none. Even if they bought into the plan, they would be risking their reputation. We still need a better squad, even more revenue and associated transfer power to attract Europe's finest.

So 'upgrading' right now would mean the 2nd tier of managers, so again, who could make a real difference right now?

I think Eddie will get AT LEAST the summer window and possibly next January too. By then, the squad should look a bit healthier and we'll have a better idea of how the commercial deals are impacting our spending power.

IF in that time EH does well, then he might even buy himself more credit. If not, then we might be closer as a club to make the next step in the transition.

BUT let's be clear, if it's the latter - and therefore we haven't been successful - don't be expecting Europe's finest elite managers to be queuing up. It will simply mean there is another interim appointment.

So either way, I expect another season out of Howe, even if he is seen as a stepping stone. That's not favouritism, that's just using logic.
