There is more to a game than stats......Of what I saw, they had far more chances to win the game than we did....end of......you need to watch the game and take it in more than look on screen for stats!!

Don't be a twat, I looked at the stats this morning and was quite surprised to see the clear cut chances stat and that is what they showed, argue with them not me.

I wish I could understand what you are inferring about all of their missed chances, for instance was the Baker last ditch tackle poor play by the striker or good play by Baker?, was it all down to poor finishing or down to good defending occasionally?

But I fully accept myself and 8 others obviously got it all wring reference our assessment of the game, you must be right.

My take from the highlights.

DaSilva needs to stay as far away from our box as possible. Footballer that he is doesn't make up for his presence in our box. Teams knock it to the far post knowing who's waiting in a red shirt.

Seems Baker is nursing an injury because there isn't a sane reason why he doesn't play alongside Atkinson and Kalas.
Thought our togetherness shone out again today and pleased for Palmer to score an excellent finish.
If Bakinson fluffed his lines today and Nige keeps the rest as is, I'd play Williams (fitness?) as his replacement.

I agree reference DaSilva but in his defence, why is he put in that position when defending crosses? why doesn't Pring take up those positions? also as I pointed out in general play Pring and DaSilva compliment each other and generally work well together, but Tanner was left exposed by the wandering Weimann yesterday, perhaps with a midfielder who understands the need to work with his full back ala Pring then maybe more crosses can be cut out? that would help, I would play Williams there in the absence of Massengo.

Maybe the 9 of you assess the game the same way.....I don't really care TBH......There are a lot of football fans, many get it right and as many also get it very wrong IMO.
Had Mitrovic took a third of his chances, never mind the two at the end, it could have been game over.....maybe you weren't watching...yes the score line agrees with you, but it doesn't always tell the true story..
Who's arguing about clear cut chances? Oh yes you are.......I'm not...
Yes, poor finishing, but the creating of chances, Fulham had an abundance.......I'm able to watch a game without rose tinted glasses but also with the added ability to still support my club.....I know..........that's twatish!! But hey ho, it helps me see how we are able to improve, not just go by singled out stats...
Jiffie mate.....stick with what you believe is right......but don't bother wasting your time trying to convince me of your findings......My understanding of the game is totally different to yours and will continue to give views to what I think makes sense!!

I agree reference DaSilva but in his defence, why is he put in that position when defending crosses? why doesn't Pring take up those positions?

Might make more sense to play Pring at LB in the first place.
Makes even more sense to play Kalas, Atkinson and Baker in a 3 and play Pring or DaSilva LWB. I'd choose Pring.

Don't what you think but I reckon our best set up currently and if all fit :

3-5-2
Bentley
Kalas, Atkinson, Baker.
Tanner, James, Massengo, Williams and Pring.
2 from 3 - Martin, Weiman, Wells.

Massengo is injured , who’d you use instead , king ?
I’m not sure Williams is ready to start yet either, he certainly wouldn’t last 90 mins, better to bring him on later on.

Please where in my post that you are referencing did I say that Fulham were not the better side? They are a premiership side in all but status at present and they were a joy to watch and a reminder of how far we are away from that, it helps if you have the sort of quality that they can call on and a huge parachute payment. But if you don't convert your superiority into goals, then you might not win and that is exactly what happened.

Most fans are happy to see a BCFC team on a REGULAR basis put in 100% to a man, something missing for far too long at this club and a midfield not prepared to be bullied in every single game and that has been missing for even longer, the missing link is midfield creativity.

I agree Bakinson was poor and that might be an in for maybe Palmer? I also thought Weimann pushed back into a midfield role was almost as poor. We are at present lop sided, DaSilva/Baker and Pring cover well for each other, but Tanner was left with little or no cover because Weimann is allowed wander around all over the place, nobody can question his commitment or energy but I have never seen him as a midfielder, he simply does not understand the roll and it also makes a big miss in the opponents penalty area. Lets be honest yesterday proved how much we missed Massengo on that right side.

On Wednesday I would rest Martin, whose passing in the 2nd half was wasteful (but he did win more than his fair share of flick ons). Put Wells and Weimann up front, Palmer in the central midfield role in place of Bakinson and put Williams on the right side of midfield to provide Tanner with better cover, I think it might balance us more.

On another note I will be surprised if Baker is fully fit, he pulled up after his wonderful last ditch tackle late on and was visibly wincing every time he kicked the ball, hopefully not serious.

Calm down, I was affirming your point to 1for about who were the better side based on the performance an chances.

Ashton, tbf I did say 'if all fit'.
Currently with Massengo sidelined I'd stay with Bakinson, he's one I'd like to think who'd benefit from game time and fully agree/understand what you say about Williams.

From what I saw, admittedly from highlights, was that Mitrovic was the never paired up with DaSilva or Pring, In fact Mitrovic was the beneficiary from DaSilvas lack of presence in the box for his goal.
Every team we play will expose DaSilva from diagonals or crosses into our box.
I said it as soon as I saw him play last year. Think his best/only option might wide left in 3-5-2.

Performance not chances, according to the stats, of course you could also take the same view as another that stats are meaningless.

I would say we were lucky insomuch as Palmers goal should have been disallowed for offside.
I learnt something today; I thought that a touch by an opposition player was enough to play you onside. Apparently that is almost true, but a save by the goalkeeper is an exception.
Every day is a school day.

And they were lucky to end the half with 11 players, Chalobah already booked for a bad foul committed 2 further fouls both of which should been yellows, so the officials made 2 big mistakes.

I'd have happily settled for a point against Fulham before the game, so no complaints here.
I had us down for a NIL PWOINTE .. SO VERY HAPPY .. I predicted 14 pts from 10 games, on 13 so a draw at Millwall [ which I had down for a loss would be fine]
The next 10 might not be so easy, but need to up the game so looking at 19 points [ hopefully home form will show 2 wins at least! ]
