I was prepared for this topsy turvy season before it started and so I am at peace with it. It's going to be a long time before we are anywhere near the top of the Championship, never mind in the Premier League again. I don't think we'll get relegated this season, but I also don't think we'll finish that far above the relegation zone. I think Slutsky is in a difficult position, his selections haven't been great, but is there any other underlying issues? Probably. Is he the right man for the job? Probably not, but who else will take the job? TWT. Lastly, it'll never get any better until that ****tard ****s off and he's not going anywhere soon. There is absolutely no way he is interested in selling the club, despite what he says.
Not read all posts but if anyone on this thread has blamed a **** performance on a 2 minute protest you need to wake up and smell the coffee. Thanks
I have no problem with the protests, should have been something like that ages ago instead of waving cards - trouble is now he doesn't go, it doesn't matter if the game gets held up for an hour , he was probably sat at home watching strictly
Glad you said that I thought they were smaller than tennis balls, they were just a similar colour In hindsight a different colour might have been better to reflect the squash reference?
That’s simply not right, we were the better team right up until them scoring, it was the goal that affected the play, not the protest.
They were actually stress balls and they were used because they were easy to hide in your pockets. Squash balls were considered too small to be effective.
I didn’t blame the loss on the protest, but as I left N4 others were. If we had won the protest would have been lauded as a great success. We have fickle fans. I was concerned by the coin throwing and by whatever the silly **** just behind me threw. For the second home match there have been words exchanged between Campbell and Grosicki and Campbell seems to have the upper hand.
Oh dear I’ll say this then I’ll leave this debate alone, feel free to respond of course but I won’t be answering as I have no desire to fall out or continue boring everyone else Lots of people have suggested the protest directly affected the result and made us lose, not too many on here, but you’re right a few on here have said it broke play up and swung the game (you however said it had broken up an ‘encouraging stint of play by City’ which I didn’t really read as being quite as strong as saying it had affected the result, but obviously now I know you meant that it might have done) I was merely separately reflecting on the original protests and voicing my view that if we hadn’t won the game on the first red card protest then I think that lots of people would have been less sympathetic about that protest and some people would have blamed the result on it If you take that as a personal dig then there’s nothing I can do about that Have an enjoyable rest of your Sunday Fez, it’s not worth getting excited over
Go for it. I paid £30 and will watch the football. By the way I don't think we can influence what that ****er does - look back and you might find that is exactly my point - so why disrupt the game?
You're bringing the 'we didn't lose because ' bit in - where I have said we lost because... And certainly, imo, no protest should encourage throwing anything onto the pitch (or at players or officials).
Fine, you were there, I watched a decent link. I thought we lost the front foot and it gave them an impetus that brought them onto us - this was how the first goal came about; a very good goal, but one that was crying out to be closed down. But make no bones about it, we lost because of Slutsky, not a daft protest.
You know what they say ... well ... maybe you don't ... "Sail Army, Fly Navy, Walk Sideways" https://www.arrse.co.uk/arrse_wiki/index.php?title=The_Royal_Air_Force&
You are right, I said it broke up a promising stint of play - something I believe is crucial to taking the upper hand in a game - which we should have had against poor opposition. I said it might of had an influence on the outcome, it's difficult to take it out of the mix, but who knows; I certainly didn't say it did, I don't think. I've reread your post re: the red cad protest and it comes across as a sarcastic criticism of views, on here, that don't conform to yours, as there was nothing to give any other take on it - you injected the RH callers later in the conversation. I held one of those other views and believe me, I couldn't give a **** about your daft comment about it being all about me, I was simply defending my view - it's you that calls it a debate. I've had and am having an excellent day, regardless of that misunderstanding now being cleared up. The reason we lost that game, and others, is because the Manager appears to be making strange decisions.
