The bottle of Pernod caught his eye. He didn't think I saw him looking but I saw it. I was half expecting him to order an Esther Rantzen.
Premier League clubs...premier league wind ups. Surely shrieking indignation is not our stock response to these sharp but well-intentioned barbs? Give em it back in spades....no city has more targets than Liverpool .
Totally agree. What would you rather have - the usual ill-informed rent a cliche preview? It was at least different, clearly a piss take and managed to raise a wry smile at parts. Tell you what is annoying though and shows the power of MotD highlights - the way in a genuine moment he refers to Brady as star man. That seems to be the general view of oppo fans who just see highlights yet I bet hardly any City fans would put him above Davies and THudd.
Exactly, I genuinely can't believe it's actually got anyone's back up. I'd much rather read a jovial light hearted 'my teams the best everyone else is ****' article than read sime dreary old crap we already know very well. Such as "Hull have surprised everyone with a great start" "Steve Bruce has done a good job making Hull a solid team" "We will have to be wary of exciting young talent like Brady and Aluko" "Graham still hasn't scored" or "They have Tom Huddlestone" for example...
That was a great preview, funny and quite clearly tongue in cheek, although some of those observations are spot on!. I'm sure they get similar clichés all the time (track-suit wearing scousers with perms that go round stealing cars...etc). If your offended by that your either too uptight or your one the people they mention! It makes a change from the usual previews which are basically; Hull City are good/bad (delete as appropriate based on last result), their main threat is... (insert top goal scorer here), their style off football is... (insert pre-conceived opinion on Steve Bruce's tactics here). Then add a few observations from the games that have been on TV and your done. It's dull, boring and not worth reading, at least this was entertaining.
we're supposed to be under the ****ing radar remember fellas. Let the scouse ****ers under-estimate us. it just goes to show how worried they are about facing us. EUROPEAN football, here we come!
Unfortunately its what all journalism tries to be nowadays. The sports reporting in the Telegraph is a prime example. Tries to be too cute and edgy.
He does not have to blow smoke up our backsides to prove he is a class act. But RM looks to be joining the ever growing band of people who rate Hull City now. Indeed.
Please don't do a Duffen with the European football bs, we all know how that ends in the end. Not seen a serious comment on the match tomorrow but I rate Everton as a team and think they have the manager that Man U could do with- hard game for us tomorrow and numpties looking forward to 'European football' will be brought down to earth, fancy them to win.
**** me, we ain't serious.. i'm going for a 3-1 to everton with maybe this type of 'goal' for graham please log in to view this image ( that was awarded a goal due to a hole in the side netting)
haha you take me serious?? wow.. I wish I could say the feeling was mutual. But I don't take any of you losers seriously. oh BTW... http://www.atdhe.cc/soccer/stream-239a6a-everton-fc-hull-city
Ditto this. Which stone did this ****er crawl from under. Hasn't got a clue about football or our fair city of culture.
