1 - 1 draw then with Zak Davies getting the goal. City were the better side but couldn't find a winner in the second half. Cian Ashford missed an absolute sitter in injury time.
So I expect that's Zak Davies not involved at Rotherham then? Looks like Lamouchi's sticking with older more experienced heads to pull us through this run in.
https://fb.watch/k8BHw0SQN8/ What a finish from Adams!!! On this evidence it really is a shame he missed the whole season
Been a while since we posted anything on this thread. Anyway today: Bluebirds U21 3-3 Sheff Weds U21 Chanka Zimba hat trick
A number of first year scholars are set to make their debut today. Good luck to all these young lads.
So the young lads did well to come back from 3-0 down to reduce the deficit to 3-2. Ultimately however the Blades ran out comfortable 6-2 winners. Good experience for the youngsters.
Disappointing to report our youngsters lost against the JBs tonight on penalties having been reduced to 10 men
Seen the highlights? Both teams had plenty of chances. Evans’ goal was so eye catchingly simple - centre back to central midfielder to striker right through the middle. Reminded me of Campbell’s goal v Man Utd.
Watched a the second half live on City's youtube channel. Despite being down to 10 men after a very harsh first half sending off, City were the better footballing side against a Millwall team of giants who also looked much older than the City youngsters. Also Millwall should have had a player sent off for a worse tackle but he unbelievably only got a yellow. Couldn't get a goal to go with the performance and it finished 0-1. Nothing for Purse to worry about there unless you just look at the result.
Sounded like it was a very young side, even for the U-21 grouping. Experiences gained against bigger/older players could prove invaluable and help toughen up a few of our kids a little earlier than they may otherwise get chance to get if staying in the younger brackets.
No idea who Rhys Hughes or Gordan Daniel Murphy are, but there's a tranche of "City supporters" who reckon they have the answer to the mystery of life. Admittedly, I only watched the second half, but from what I saw as it happened, the youngsters made a good fist of it against an experienced Millwall outfit who started the game as 1/5 favourites for the win.
I don't think results always reflect the ability of a team at 18, 21 or 23 (cant remember the agegtoups that play these days). The 23s often have 1st team squad players playing. The 21s/18s often lose players up the sides. As I mentioned elsewhere, 3 of the 21s with the 1st team squad tonight, including Colwill jnr.
