One of the best keepers in the prem conceded six to them the other night....Does that, all of a sudden, make him a poor keeper? Its the $hit defence that makes the errors not Jak or Marshall.
To be honest I'm not sure Marshall was to blame for any toady, if we are blaming people I think Marshall would be near the back of the que
To be fair to Marshall if it wasn't for him, we'd be looking at double figures today, made several great saves
This argument is boring, Marshall did nothing wrong today. I get the feeling that some would still complain if he performed like Boaz at Spurs
Yeah. There are a few who constantly slated Marshall throughout the season when in my book he did nothing much wrong. But that's the way it is. I guess.
He's consistently conceded a lot of goals when he has featured this season - regardless of the opposition.
That's your opinion fella and your entitled to it...Lets just say we agree to disagree. Have a great summer.
We conceded 4 last weekend with Jak in goal against much worse opposition. We concede goals regardless of who plays in goal. That's why we're down
The Ajax side that beat Schalke in the Europa League QF had no player over 27, nine players aged 21 or under and four were actually teenagers. It's incredible that such a young team has done so well, they were only a point behind Feyenoord in the league table and may yet still win the Europa League.
I've not exactly been constantly knocking him, in fact when there were original calls to drop him I disagreed, Hoping he'd gain confidence However while yesterday was an artificial game to judge him on I still feel he looks a bit flat footed and not as quick to anticipate and react to shots, particularly from distance, as I'd hope 1&6 were examples of that. He may have been unsighted, but he didn't seem to move at all to get any sight. You could read a mile off, particularly with 6, what was about to happen but he seemed rooted to the, unsighted, spot with no chance to react by actually diving I'm no goalkeeping expert and I hope he has a good pre season because I assume he'll be with us next season, possibly as number 1, but I hope he looks a bit more on his toes next time he plays for us
I think we need to cut our losses on Marshall. Whatever anyone's opinion is of him, he's getting to a Graham-esque state where he's so bereft of confidence that a fresh start may be his best chance. The fact that every game he's played with us has seemingly had half a dozen goals shipped - whether his fault or not - will surely weight pretty heavily on his psyche.
