It’s no surprise to see yet another decent player left completely in the dark regarding his contract. Just **** the **** off Ehaw! Markus Henriksen wants to complete his Hull City mission after Bordeaux bids are rejected The City captain is one of several players out of contract this summer By Philip Buckingham 04:30, 2 FEB 2019 SPORT please log in to view this image Markus Henriksen of Hull City warms up (Image: Focus) Hull City captain Markus Henriksen says he had no intention of leaving the KCOM Stadium during the January transfer window, despite French club Bordeaux failing with “a couple of offers” last month. Henriksen was a prominent target for the Ligue 1 side, who had hoped to use his uncertain long-term future as a means of luring the Norway international across the Channel. City’s refusal to sell ahead of Thursday’s deadline ensures Henriksen will now stay in East Yorkshire until at least this summer but the skipper maintains he had no wish to abandon a promotion bid halfway through. “A couple of offers came in but the owner said we wouldn’t sell anyone, no matter how much we get. They kept their words,” said Henriksen, who will lead City out at home to Stoke today. please log in to view this image Markus Henriksen of Hull City (right) congratulates goalscorer Fraizer Campbell after he made it 3-0 against Sheffield Wednesday “I’ve been aware of it but I’m very happy to be here because I really believe we can do something this season. “This is my third season and the positivity is getting better and better. There’s been a lot of tough times in this club, you can’t hide, but I feel now the passion we show for the club is giving supporters faith. Sam Clucas opens up on why he left Hull City and that accusation he refused to play “I feel a responsibility. I’m one of the senior players who have a lot of experience. I’m not the type of guy to leave in the middle of something. This was the best solution for everyone.” Henriksen’s commitment will be clear until the end of this season but there is still a question mark over his long-term future. The 26-year-old is out of contract in June and City have not yet shown any indication they will trigger a 12-month extension clause in the deal he signed when arriving from AZ Alkmaar in 2016. please log in to view this image Markus Henriksen of Hull City celebrates beating QPR (Image: Getty) “I’m open for signing a new contract but I still haven’t heard anything,” said Henriksen. “The only thing I can do is focus every day on getting better and helping the team. “Every footballer, it doesn’t matter what you do for work, you want to have some clear answers. “We have a couple of players in the same situation and it’s only positive to do it (hold talks) earlier than a little bit too late.” Hull City vs Stoke City: Prediction, opinion, team news, key battle and betting Henriksen’s immediate focus is on inspiring a response from last weekend’s 3-0 loss away to Blackburn when Stoke visit the KCOM today. Liam Ridgewell, a free agent signed on deadline day, could feature in a defensive line badly depleted by injuries but Henrisken is confident Nigel Adkins now has a squad capable of making up the deficit on the Championship’s play-off spots. please log in to view this image Markus Henriksen of Hull City applauds the travelling fans at full time after drawing with Millwall (Image: Focus) “The window is closed now and I’m very happy that we got Liam at the end,” he added. “We needed defenders. “We don’t have the biggest squad but we have a good squad. Everyone knew we needed a couple of new players. We got two and I believe in the squad we’ve got. What's happened to Hull City's one-time boy wonder Josh Tymon ahead of KCOM Stadium return? “Players like Kamil (Grosicki) and Jarrod (Bowen), a lot of big clubs have been linked with them. "But it’s massive to keep them. They give us such a big threat going forward.”

Nige said in the pre match interview it won’t happen. The injured are close to full fitness. By injured - I mean those that aren’t permanently injured.
Thought Nigel said that the deadline for free-agents had shut so maybe this Danny Lupano will be signing a pre-contract agreement and join in the summer?
He's a young boy who's just been released from Birmingham, having spent less than six months with them after they snapped him up from the hotbed of footballing excellence which is Solihull Moors academy. I don't think that he's gonna be pulling up any trees for us, in any capacity, in the near future.
