No, just a feeling. The silent majority are at the KC tomorrow. Announce the vote the day before, less time for the minority to do anything. Its an important match so we are due an announcement and this as good as any other.
I think it may help us stand out from the pack when it comes to securing sponsorship deals and help get the club in the public eye. It already has to some extent. I think it might help us secure new young fans and help secure the future of the club. I look forward to the insults now I've said that.
If it works how many other teams with City in their name will become Tigers. Manchester Tigers anyone? Cardiff Tigers, Norwich Tigers or even Stoke Tigers? We already have London Tigers so the FA couldn't say no, and if they did, the owners could threaten to sell up. We could still end up having a common name, one Tiger amongst many.
If City announce a ballot tomorrow, immediately ahead of one of the most important games of the season, then they want shooting. They probably will though.
I think the media have supported you because it is a controversial story. They want to sell papers. Fans against the evil foreign owner. I doubt they really care what we are called. If it changes or not, in the long run no one outside of our club and fan base will care.
IF it works, clubs are hardly going to copy our name to stand out. They would gain no advantage. They might change their name to something else though.
That's absolutely untrue, we regularly receive personal messages of support from some of the leading sports journalists in the country, they absolutely want this rejected for the good of the game.
Sorry but I find posts like this really irritating. The sarcastic use of evil foreign owner as if its all been exaggerated. What more could he do to confirm that he's a ****?
The reporters who have supported us believe that English football is unique and that the names of teams are an important part of selling our game around the world. The reason the Premier League is worth over £60 million a year to Hull City is because BT and Sky sell the matches all around the world. Turning us into a copy of the NFL or the Super League isn't going to help sales abroad. Its about money and Hull City is a fairly small fish in the Premier League pond. Its is why I think some of the other stakeholders, such as the Premier League, said no.
Perfect huge marketing opportunity for a big sponsor to come in. Take out the sponsorship deal on the basis allam agrees to tow the party line in saying "[company] offered to outbid the highest bidder on the basis the club keeps it's original name intact. We feel the fans should be valued, bla bla bla, gobble gobble gobble"
Why do you say that? The issues have been discussed to death. You don't know the question, so it might even be simpler than you think and needs no explanation. Why drag it out (which has been something CTWD have complained about isn't it?). Is it because if its announced tomorrow and done tomorrow, it gives you no time to run a load of press and attempt to influence peoples views? Honest question that btw, it's not meant in a snidey or dig style, I just don't understand why you'd be against it tomorrow.
He is **** in your view because he is arguing against what you believe in. From my view point most of what he has said is reasonable.
What do you think the atmosphere will be like tomorrow if we have the vote? Do you think it will get any better if WBA score first? Honest questions.
If they attempted to try and get people to vote at the turnstiles tomorrow, without anyone having any advance notice, how do you think that would turn out?
