Maybe Adams thinks he knows what RvW can do & is just going to play others, after all he could play 2 strikers in the 1st half, 2 different ones in the 2nd and still not give all his strikers a game. Not sure what he'd learn by playing RvW against Dereham, so the only reason to play him would maybe be to develop fitness.

In Bassong's case I hope it means he's on his way. Turner & Bennett would be my prefered option by a country mile.

I don't believe for a moment that RvW is being 'forced out'. If he leaves, either on loan or on a permanent, it will be because that's what he wants.

Excellent post cc and totally agree re Turner and R Bennett. I'm sure that if they get regular match time together in the forthcoming season, they will develop a better understanding and improve. Unfortunately, last season, it was mostly Bassong first, then whoever else was fit!! <ok>

tbh Rick, I think he threw his toys out of the pram when CH was sacked and he is now relegated to the reserves until he goes! <ok>

Interesting words from Adams, wonder if he was carrying a small injury when he returned or was just not at the same fitness level, training with the players who were injured, like Olsson and those who were away with their country like Wes and Pilks (Leroy is clearly still in Brazil) would imply that he wasn't ready to play this afternoon. Personally my concern that he's being forced out will be sated somewhat if he does play a significant part on Tuesday.

What is the squad size limit in the championship. Is it 25 over the age of 21?

    If so then:

    Ruddy
    Rudd
    Bunn

    Olsson
    Garrido
    Martin
    Whittaker
    Turner
    R Bennett
    Bassong

    Johnson
    Grabban
    Howson
    Fer
    Tettey
    Pilkington
    Hoolahan
    Surman

    Lafferty
    RVW
    Hooper
    Becchio

would all ok as I am assuming Redmond, Loza, the Murphy boys etc. would not count as they are under 21?

bassong seems to be the only player who has made it clear that he doesn't want to stick around so he leaves the management with little alternative but to not involve him. shame really, as despite a poor season (though he was by no means as bad as some say) he would be an absolute beast at championship level. he makes mistakes - he did in his first season too remember, he just got away with them - but to be honest if he cut those mistakes out he'd be at a top four premier league club. he is still a quality centre back.

there is no limit but i would think its sensible to keep fairly close to the premier league model as promotion then wouldn't mean a big shift in personnel

The one exception, IMO, is the need to get a quality ACM in if we are to challenge for promotion.

The problem is, we tried last Summer and couldn't find anyone willing to come, this year we're in the Championship!

Good point and unless we get someone who can fill that role and is of reasonable quality, then I fear that scoring goals will again be our 'achilles heel'.

I think Wes could do a job if he wants to be here, but that's a big if!
