The facts are that nobody on here knows the facts. The media feed off tit bits to sell their brands and gullible fans lap it up to suit their own agenda. If Sagna re-signs do you think these same people will be praising Wenger ?

Of course they won't. They are children with no understanding of how things work in the adult world. The whiners were/are probably still being breast fed well into their teens.

It seems to me that some fans love to lap it up when things aren't going well. Look at the amount of negative articles and comments that have sprung up over the last week. Where were those people when we were winning ? Do they give Wenger praise for signing up Ramsey, Walcott, Szczesny, Cazorla to new long term deals ? **** do they. If they demonstrated some balance, I'd be more inclined to take their opinions seriously.

People tend to talk more when we lose, that is just a pure fact. The match threads with the most comments are always about the matches we lost. If we lost every week, this place would be heaving. When we win, there are barely any comments in the games in between. I think to a degree, I can understand that. When we get beat, we want answers and the analysis begins in earnest.

Maybe that's the case. I guess it's like a good restaurant. A couple of bad meals/service and everybody is up in arms complaining, forgetting that for one bad day, there are a hundred good ones that nobody talks about. I understand why people are frustrated about Arsenal and Wenger, I am too. But I think some people get sucked into AVB's spiral of negativity and can't see the wood for the trees and can't pick out the reality from the mist of their anger.

The Sagna case is a classic example, Wenger has signed up Ramsey, Mertesacker, Walcott, Cazorla, Szczesny, Wilshere and Gibbs recently to long term deals, they are the spine of our team for the future, yet the same people who are throwing a fit about Wenger over Sagna said nothing about those deals AND we don't even know what's happening with Sagna yet, but it doesn't stop the OTT comments. It's very naive.

It's the times when the largest threads are about the games we win you should be worrying about. As it is, we still think of ourselves highly enough to expect a win in most of the games.

    Re: Sagna,

He might not be better than some other RBs in the league, but we won't get those better RBs if we let Sagna go anyway. Does anyone expect we'll recruit someone as good or better when he goes, considering:

    - Priority will probably be CF (only place we're likely to pay for quality)
    - a DM still high on the list
    - a CB will probably be a must as I can't see Vermaelen staying
    - we could be looking for a proper left winger

We'll never pay for a quality RB to replace Sagna considering the other areas we might need to invest. It's almost certain that the place will be guaranteed for Jenkinson, I doubt even someone of Monreal's calibre will be brought in to provide competition.

There is so much bollox in there its hard to know where to start .

"where were those people when we were winning ."

    are you for real .?

That the main bitch you have , that we moan even when we win .

How many times have you ( and others ) said this .?

" ffs sake we won and people are STILL moaning. !"

Then when we lose 6- 0 its big shock to you that we moan ..

You are happy if we play sh1t and get the points .

    I am NOT .

I would rather we played fantastic and lost .

Cant get your head around that can ya ?

    Why ?

    Because THAT would instill hope.

Crap play and 3 points instills NOTHING !
so dont give us the bull**** about where were we when we were winning .

We are always here criticising if the football is shocking ...3 points or not.

You constantly criticise us for it .

    so thats just bollox

    one bad day .?

    ONE BAD DAY ?

Away games against other members of the top four over the last five seasons: P15 W1 D1 L13

fucking long day aint it .?

who do you think you are kidding , there are more people who agree he is done at Arsenal , than who think he is gods gift to Arsenal

better start to accept it... hes dead man walking , and if the wigan game turns out like the last " massive " game .

    Or the subsequent "response"

God help the "In wenger we trust brigade " .... i dunno where they will look for the next silver lining.

even the "ever reliable " 4th place trophy is in jeopardy these days.

Some people are too sentimental .

He had some great success .
He is too old for the way football is now..
Even Fergie knew when it was time to give it up.
He should have the sense to go out while he can be remembered as 50 % successful in his reign .

if Sagna wants to go he could have signed a pre-contract agreement in January. he hasn't. imo i think he wants to stay and be our first choice for the next 3 years, and wants 3 year contract with more money.

he knows he can go abroad and be first choice on 3 year contract and lots more money OR he can go to Mancity and be optional choice for 3 years with loads more money

ffs AW offer him a 3 year contract. work out cost of 3 year contract, then compare it to cost of buying a replacement and replacements wages and then add in the what if replacement is no ****ing good element. it is a no brainer - offer him the ****ing contract he actually deserves

He's in the top 3 with Zab and Ivanovic (with an honourable mention for Azpelcueta, even though he's currently playing LB)

For me personally Zab is the best all round and Ivanovic is the best defensively.

Zab and Sagna can both cover LB, so maybe one of Kolarov/Clichy is surplus to requirements at City too?

Ludicrous assertion. It's not 'one or two bad days' it's nearly a decade of uninterrupted failure!

3 year contract for a 31 year old right back is pretty hefty, and Sagna will not be looking for a pay cut, city will be offering 150k+, so, question is - do you reckon Sagna is work 23.5 million quid over 3 seasons? :/

So for every one 'bad day' we've had 100 'good days'? So we had 800 years of success before our last trophy?

We've had a team for the 'future' for the last 8 years and they've done nothing. It's not the players, it's the manager. He has some of the best players at his disposal and underachieves with them. Winning an FA cup with home games, lower league opponents and neither of the big two teams won't paper over that (and that's if we even win it). Arsene innovated when he first arrived but now dozens of managers can do what he introduced and they do it better.

There were threads about all those players signing on with people being pleased! I created one at the same time as somebody else and they were merged so not sure why you think this wasn't discussed.

    Never for me.

I've said it time and again, I couldn't care if we win ugly, beautifully, comprehensively, narrowly, with style, or luck as long as we win. In fact, it's when we win after a hard fought slug that it can be the most satisfying. Winning IS the most important thing. How many times have you heard the saying 'Stuff of champions playing badly and still winning?'

If you want champagne football every week, then you're probably supporting the wrong team.

You're as deluded as HIAG but at least he does it tongue in cheek. We win playing ugly because we're not very good, not because we have the stuff of champions. How do I know this? Because we've not been close to champions for years.

Another one of yours going to City?

You should make a stand and make sure you keep him.
