    BUT,

If they win, then they will probably be awarded 'Costs', so it MIGHT not be MCFC that's having to pay.

An example of a possible rebuffel by the Defence.

Question Prosecution to representative of Etihad Airway.

We understand that your sponsorship of The Club is the richest in World Sport.

    Response

I would need details of all other sponsorship Deals, Worldwide, in order to accurately answer that claim.

    Prosection.
Well, would it be fair to say that yous is PROBABLY, one of the biggest?

    Response.
    Yes.

    Prosecution.
But how can you justify this on COMMERCIAL grounds?

    Response
Our Board of Directors are perfectly satisfied that the benefits, accruing to our Company, through our association with, and sponsorship of, Manchester City Football Group, make this a satisfactory deal.

    Prosecution.
We , the Prosecution, believe that it is impossible to see how that statement could be true.
BUT, if you feel it is, show us your PROOF.

    Response.
Whatever you belief's might be, our Board of Directors are satisfied.
Our Board of Directors are not on Trial here, nor is this court a place in which it is proper to expect them to give details of of how they conduct The Company's business or how they reach their decisions .

Perhaps you would like to submit your questions to the Annual Meeting Of Shareholders?

Agree, they'll both be looking out for each other in the coming investigations.

It does seem that Football is very corrupt.

Even local non-league clubs pay some of their players in cash filled brown envelopes. They will eventually get caught and punished, but I bet Chitty which involves £millions get away with it.

Abhu Dhabi will be fined. The sum is irrelevant. They may well also be deducted points. If they win the league by three they will be deducted two. If they finish second, they will be deducted an amount of points which will keep them in the top three.

    All part of the deal.

Needs to be deducted for the start of next season. Don't want the scum creeping into the top 4 by default.

We're going to have to accept that they're going to start winning stuff. The good thing is that it means nothing because it's all based on hoying money around rather than talent. If they'd done what Liverpool did under Klopp I'd have been jealous.

I was thinking this the other day. They may just as well buy the team who wins the premiership this year, and then next year if they win it they’ll believe they won the title,I know that’s over simplifying it but that’s basically what they aim to do over a couple of seasons.
Basically zero skill just lots of money.

There'll be nothing significant. They simple dare not do it . Abhu Dhabi will keep it in the courts for years, literally.

Legal process itself is a two ton weapon if you have the money. That's how the Saudis and Ashley got their way

Can they even take this to the courts? I thought it was a max process of internal commission with one appeal to another commission. CAS cant get involved. I think the only way this ends is with lawyers doing a deal where City take some significant punishment. It isnt like the premier league can only afford trainee lawyers, they can spend just as much, and probably already have on legal advice. Personally think City will get hammered here. Watershed moment and all that.

There is always a way to invoke the law though it seems.

They can argue the procedure has not been followed correctly. Or that this is outside that rule or that law, or that this document was late, or a question answered incompletely . And so on forever really. It all takes time, a lot of money and is a typical defence used by the moneyed, here and elsewhere, particularly in the States. This by the way is how "Mr Loophole" works. Pay him enough and he will trawl through every piece of the absurd amount of paperwork involved in a traffic offence, find a full stop missing, and contest on failure to follow procedure. He nearly always wins.

Everyone knows Abhu Dhabi have a team in the EPL, and fund it how they choose. This is just the EPL pretending they are on the case. Nothing significant will happen.

This useless body showed it's true colours when the Super League Six were blatantly in breach of their EPL contracts, and were allowed, (begged) to carry on.

The EPL is a rancid, amateur and corrupt shambles, ran by people who cannot believe they are being paid what they are being paid, and will do anything to keep the personal tap running.

Pep basically grassing on the rest of the league because hes be caught. I always think to point out others who are also 'as bad' then you are admitting guilt
