Serious question - if you follow all of these tips, are you up or down after a month? Also, what's with the points?
Some people bet shillings, some pounds, some hundreds. A point is what your usual stake is. If your usual bet is 5ew, then it is 1 point ew. The idea being you keep your staking consistent and not chase losses. 3.25 Chepstow (win 20) BET 1pt win and place JOY CHOI L -2pts BET 4pts to win 10 THE COFFEE POD n/r 4.05 Brighton (win 20) BET 4pts win DASHINWHITESARGENT L -4pts BET 2.5pts win LEXINGTON KNIGHT W + 30pts ★ 8.25 Haydock (win 20, nap) BET 4.25pts win CRACKERGEE L-4.25pts This is more expansive. In effect varying your stake for each horse, to win the same amount. Decent return thanks to a 12/1 winner.
VIP Thursday Few today guys not doing many. Have my eye on two for this evening so we will see how get on with these. Golf starts at 11.45 if following: KORKER is a notoriously slow starter but is clearly capable from this mark as demonstrated last time out at York. He has 7 career wins all coming from off the pace. Almost as if they have been forced to adapt his running style to win races due to his constant ‘dwelling’ at start of races. He should be able to win this of todays mark of 103. It’s only 1lb higher than his last win and he’s also ran two big races of 104 at Ayr and at York in a class 1 handicap. His apprentice rider Jack Nicholls brings his 7lb claim and 29% strike rate as well. Jack still has less than 100 rides in total but has a fair strike rate with 15% win rate and managed to get a horse up I follow called STREET LIFE last week. A feat in itself. He looks like one to keep an eye on for future rides, especially when riding for Burke. I was impressed by what we saw from MAW LAW when tipped up last week. Made a good go of it front the front on ground we knew wasn’t ideal for her. She was indeed reeled in by ‘REEL HER IN’ who looked a good prospect with claimer ARCHIE YOUNG onboard (another good rider to follow ) We drop in trip and get good ground today. Both factors should play in to strengths as the 2 miles is definitely a stretch for her. She has majority of her wins at today’s trip of 1 mile 5. Finally SCINTILLANTE won for us at 10/1 late last month. Looked in trouble and out of sorts mid race but found an extra gear in closing stages of the race to win nicely. I am concerned about taking on the short price Sean Bowen fav but I feel our pick is the value here at 3/1 and the horse looks capable of more only 4lbs up. Ralph yard has been in very good shape recently still holding a strike rate of around 25%. This is their first runner of the season at the track.
