VIP THURSDAY 3.45 HEREFORD - CAPTAIN ATTRIDGE 7/1 - 1 point win Win bet for me as theres only two places paid for this one. Might as well get the full value if it does drop in. Won off a break in the past - this is his first run in 6 months but I’m hoping history can repeat itself with a C&D win. He won in May last year here off a 6 month lay off. Worth chancing despite being 5lbs higher than last years effort. Clear claims and danger is TIME INTERVAL who was narrowly denied LTO and the yard have booked HARRY COBDEN (top form at the moment) to try and get the job done for them. That’s best priced 9/4.

3.55 NEWTON ABBOT - MUSIQUE DE FEE 11/4 - 1 point win Had a good look into this race as first started with the favourite COCONUT TWIST who is 9/4. We had this horse tipped as our NAP when he won at Exeter the other week. That’s the horses best win to date and he’s facing new challenges now off a higher mark (6lbs up) and also trying a new trip. He has rarely breached 3 miles in his career and this will be his first time at 3 miles +. He is bred for the trip and this was probably the long term plan. You can tell this by looking at his PTP record as a 4 year old. I think he might have to settle for the runners up spot today in behind MUSIQUE DE FEE who is more proven at this level and bids for a hat-rick today. He won very well over 3 miles 3 at Sedgefield most recently and did so by a clear 3 lengths - this came despite being under pressure a few furlongs our and wandering all over the track. In fairness once jockey Josh Bryan showed him the whip a few times he started to extend and got the job done finishing 25 lengths ahead of the rest of the pack. Still requires more improvement pushed up 7lbs today but is good value IMO at 11/4 for a bet. Wouldn’t put anyone of the forecast

    VIP FRIDAY

    2.40 AYR - ACE OF SPADES 11/4 - 1 point win

Won at class 4 by a clear 6 lengths but was unable to follow up and complete the hat trick at Kelso last month. Finished fourth in the class 2 that day but only 2 lengths of the winner. He stayed on quite strongly but simply ran out if pace and track - unable to make a serious challenge. Bit harsh that he has been put up 2lbs by the handicapper for that run, but a drop in class should see him competitive here with a yard that will be desperate for winners this weekend in their quest to stop Willie Mullins taking home the UK trainers Championshship.

    4.25 AYR - FLORIDA DREAMS 5/1 - 1 point win

2lbs now below last winning mark. I feel like FLORIDA DREAMS would have challenged and potentially won his last race at Kelso if not for a mistake when gathering momentum. He was patiently ridden by McMenamin did a good job steering through the traffic to put FLORIDA into contention - he then smacked a fence and the challenge was over but it really had a chance to begin.

    4.58 - DUNNET HEAD 10/1 & IL VA DE SOI 9/1 - 0/5 EW

Two trackers in the same race both fair prices. 4 places paid for this one across the board - small EW bets for both. DUNNET HEAD is back to his last winning mark now so worth a chance today after a handful of poor performances. IL VA DE SOI looked quite exciting last season but seems to have hit a brick wall since returning from break. This is a drop in class and conditions match her previous winning exploits on g-s ground. Yard are also back in fair form with a 26% win rate from their last 20 entries.

VIP - Scottish National - talked myself into a bet on last years winners for us MACDERMOTT drifted to a fair price. WALKING ON AIR out to 33/1. I think MAGNA SAMS going under the radar at this price - last seen winning a marathon trip and has a fair weight. SPANISH HARLEM is now as short as 8/1 from 33/1 when posted. Fingers crossed for a big run. Seems to be a few words going around for WISEGUY and SURREY QUEST. 365 have that bet builder now - seen people putting together some good bets from that well worth looking into !!

    1.30 - DR EGGMAN- 1 point win 10/3

Mullins has both the market principles here as he also mounts TOAD HALL who won recently at Downpatrick. Both had impressive wins TOAD HALL won by 10 lengths and DR EGGMAN beat the fancied GOOD N KIND by 2 lengths but the pair extended nearly 25 lengths from the rest of the pack. PROMONTORY who finished 3rd that day has since gone onto win at the track so it’s safe to say the form is pretty solid from that race. In addition to this theres a lot more value at 10/3 than the 6/4 with TOAD HALL. Outside the Mullins horses I think JAX JUNIOR is the danger - he was tried in the Albert Bartlett after an impressive Ascot win in Janaury. Can’t be ruled out but in all honesty, it’s hard to go against the Mullins horses who both look to use this as stepping stone into G1 races at Punchestown in May.

    2.05 - EAST INDIA EXPRESS 9/4 - 1 point win (SAVER - TYPHOON FLYER 7/1 - 0.25)

Small saver on TYHPOON FLYER who ran a better at Haydock in March. Won easily beating market rival Diamond Soda by 15 lengths. This was despite a very iffy jump at the last - amateur jockey took a big chance and he just about got away with it and then the horse extended to win impressively. If in that form today should be a challenge to the fav EAST INDIA EXPRESS who for me remains the one to beat. 9/4 is a fair price, been backed a bit this morning - was well fancied for Martin Piper but was headed 2 out and unable to see out any real challenge. This is an easier race and also Freddie Gordons 3lb claim is in play here which it wasn’t at the festival.

    2.40 - BHALOO 7/1 - 0.5 EW

CLASSIC GETAWAY is over for Willie Mullins good price at 7/1 but I fancy trying BHALOO for Henderson here. He’s clearly a good ground horse and not had his ground this season until Newbury - he won that easily against good horses. Also won in November at Ascot on good ground. Conditions are perfect for him today so a good chance to step up to class 1 company and run well.

    5.00 - BIG BOY BOBBY 9/1 - 0.5

Tracker horse that is running well off current mark but is getting no favours from the handicapper. He’s 10lbs above last winning mark but has a 3lb claimer today. This is a class 3, he’s been second off big prices in his last two outings. This is more competitive. ARCLIGHT should out run 14/1 odds but in all fairness it looks wide open. Our selection BIG BOY BOBBY came second in behind OHH BETTY who was narrowly denied in the Graded race won for us by CRACKING RHAPSODY on Saturday. That strengthens the form significantly and we should be able to get a place here at least!!

    VIP GOLF starts at 1pm

    Xander Schaufelle - 14/1

    Jordan Spieth 33/1

    Sepp straka 35/1

    Ashkay Bhatia 60/1

    Tom Hoge 70/1

    Will Zalatoris 80/1

Also fancy RYO HITSUANE at 150/1

    Starts tomorrow at 1pm

Some of the usual suspects this week with Xander, Tom Hoge and Spieth being tried again. Felt Zalatoris looked a lot better at the masters so hoping he can find his form properly again.

Dads just backed a winner... my mums quite little now... So he asked me to have £2 e way MinnieMum for him as the betting shop Has closed in Brough. It wins!!

Just on the subject. Really bad the shop closing. Brough is expanding and Dad 92 used to go down there using his walker and chat to some people, spend an hour. They're obviously in the same boat. Not good for peoples social interaction at a certain vintage. Hoping someone takes it over.
