VIP WEDNESDAY Other tips posted last night ^^ Looks like we are going ahead at Southwell they have passed an inspection this morning. We at least have a couple of class 4 races here but lets be honest - dire day of racing all round again. The first race of the day should be interesting after this weeks article in The Times bringing the Bryony Frost - Robbie Dunn weighing room drama back into the limelight. They race against each other in the first. It’s very telling that Frost only has two rides today and ironically they are both for a woman, Mrs Wadham. Unfortunately I think she lacks chance on either ride ELCAIR DE GUYE at 14/1 hasn’t won for 3 years and I’ve never even seen her other mount run. One other I will point out in the 3.55 is LOCH GARMAN ARIS at 28/1 today. This is one of the oldest horses I’ve seen run, he’s 14 years old!! Not only that he’s ran two decent races towards the back end of last year - always worth a follow, probably not worth a bet. Golf posted today (last weeks were awful we will try again) VIP SOUTHWELL 2.10 - MY GIFT TO YOU - 9/4 - 1 point win This horse looks good value today, arrives on the back of a 5 length win at Fakenham in November and up 5lbs for that effort. The booking of Harry Cobden is a positive - but can he handle the ground? Main rival Hilsin has been off for 6 months, he will most likely need a spin. Nothing else really arrives in form apart from the brilliantly named STEVEN SEAGULL who finally run a race LTO but has plenty of question marks about the trip, class and so forth at 12/1. 3.20 - IIDERGERM - 1/1 - 1 point win Been backed overnight but still evens on 365. Most other bookies are into 5/6 already so a bit of value still in the price despite only evens. This horse will have no issues with soft or heavy ground and was very unlucky not to win at Leicester LTO. He has been tried at this level twice and came second on both occasions by less than a length on both occasions. He keeps getting headed near the line and will need a strong assertive ride from claimer Lewis Jones today to ensure he gets over it. TOTAL POINTS SUGGESTED 2.
Very good day so far…. one for the golfers…someone got lucky with a 200/1 golf bet from these @Ernie Shackleton - was it you? Apologies if not! VIP GOLF I know most don’t follow the golf but I enjoy it having a go and watching so if you want to follow these tips you’re more than welcome. Last weeks were poor but we did land a nice 70/1 before Christmas and the better tournaments are starting again now after the Xmas/New year break. There are two tournaments this week which I’m having a bet on. THESE ARE ALL 0.5 EW SO 10 POINTS TOTAL. Dubai Desert Classic This starts at 3am so if you're getting on do so today. Rory leads the way as fav, but he’s 11/4 - probably one of the shortest prices I’ve ever seen for a tournament like this so absolutely no point betting in the win market. If you think he will win and get off to a good start then 14/1 for First round leader is probably the best shout for value. JOAQUIN NIEMANN 25/1 ADAM SCOTT 25/1 CAMERON YOUNG 22/1 RICHARD MANSELL 100/1 YANNICK PAUL 40/1 The American Express Arguably a better line up for The American Express this one starts at 4.30pm UK time tomorrow. World number 1 Scottie Scheffler heads the market at 11/2 - it’s just so short. If you want to bet on both the favs then BET365 has a bet boost for them both to win at 27/1. I prefer having a go on some long shots and these are who I fancy here: SUNGJAE IM 20/1 JT POSTON 30/1 TONY FINAU 35/1 WILL ZALATORIS 110/1 SAM RYDER 150/1 Please if planning to follow cheers
VIP FRIDAY Cavern club went off at 5/2 from 15/2 and not even close ❌ Very disappointed today DAAFY goes 4/9 and second and beaten by BOBBY then the NAP smashed in but ran like a pig.\ Even BOAFA BOY who I mentioned went 8/11 in running and 2nd. Very annoying and obviously not a good day for us. Golf in DUBAI has started very well but first round so early days yet but we have CAM YOUNG in 1st position, 100/1 shot MANSELL is 5th and SCOTT and NIELMANN are in the top ten. Will keep everyone updated on that. Again jumps racing ABANDONED across the UK tomorrow - Irish line will have a few tips for DUNDALK and I will do a few for NEWCASTLE and then try a few longshots for a bit of interest at WOLVES. Hopefully we see some jumps over the weekend, but it’s not looking likely… VIP NEWCASTLE - 1 point wins 4.45 - BOWOOD 9/4 6.15 - CAMACHO STAR 7/4 The 4.45 to me looks between the favs, I just hope I have got the right one in BOWOOD. He has been blinkered and has the benefit of 5lbs from William Pyle. He was denied by a head last week but Pyles claim was not in effect due to it being an apprentice jock race. I think he’s the one to beat but NOVAK is the obvious danger and has been running very close of late. CAMACHO STAR has not been penalised after a second place behind ‘miracle horse’ A PINT OF BEAR. He went off 2/1 fav but was caught in the rear and left with too much to do. He runs of the same mark today and if he gets a better start he should be good enough to win, VIP WOLVES FANCIES 0.5 EW 1.40 - HAALAND 12/1 - 4 paid 2.15 - SIR MAXI 18/1 and VISIBILITY 25/1 - 4 paid 4.25 - KENSTONE 11/1 - 3 paid KENSTONE runs well at Wolves and it’s well worth noting that despite it being well over a year ago, the last time he won was here at WOLVES and of a mark of 59… he’s down to 48 now with a 3lb claimer on board. Gina Mangan 3lb off will give this in form horse a chance in my opinion. He was 3rd here last week and beat some decent horse in the process. I just think both VISIBILITY and SIR MAXI are overpriced again. Tipped both when they ran at Newcastle and here on previous runs. Both placed. Small go on both as they are the outsiders in these field tomorrow. HAALAND has Hollie Doyle back on board, they won together last time. Few lacklustre efforts since but 14/1 seems a big price with 4 places paid. TOTAL POINTS SUGGESTED - 4
VIP SATURDAY Morning guys. Not much luck yesterday. Going to have a good crack here at Lingfield as it’s pretty much the best AW racing we have had all week… Few class 2/3 races today to get involved with. Will see how we get on and maybe one or two at Wolves. Obviously keep stakes small at the moment guys until we get some proper jumps racing back. I know the group, like most will be split over Ryan Moore.. he’s back today at Lingfield and has 4 rides… I’ve only tipped one for VIP (GREENHAM BAY) but honestly think he has a fair chance on the lot for anyone looking for some multiples. LINGFIELD 2.00 - DRAGON ICON 4/1 - 1 point win 3.10 - OH SO GRAND 15/8 - 1 point win Saver (ELEANOR CROSS 17/2) I’ve had the tracker out for DRAGON ICON since his first run for Varian where he caught the eye winning a class 4 novice with ease. Went on to win another novice but the kicker here is that Varian felt he was good enough to attempt the Group 1 Guineas over in Germany where he ran a massive race finishing 5th. This is a big drop down in class… he’s back amongst class 3 company and has been well supported overnight in the market. I’m having a small saver on ELEANOR CROSS who is a blading horse that I track but I find it hard to look past the in form and well backed OH SO GRAND. Although he steps up in class today he has a great record here, won at C&D last time and if you watch that Lingfield he came from LAST to FIRST with an incredible turn off foot. It was mightily impressive and I’ve been looking forward to seeing him run since. Looks to have plenty in tank. LINGFIELD LONGSHOTS - 1 point EW Will try a couple of long shots - Ryan Moore has GREENHAM BAY in the first and we can get 4 places paid on this one at a decent price. We are now 4lb below the last winning mark so the horse should be winning soon and has been going close. I think he’s good value and should have a decent go from a good draw. BEDFORD FLYER has the stall 1 draw here and has won at C&D on two occasions. He’s running off the same mark as his second in the class 2 at Southwell last month where he came in behind Clarendon house and to be honest that looked a struggled run. Hopefully he can improve a bit more and win of this mark with the visor applied. I think FIRE DEMON will be a popular bet today but he had to work very hard to win last time. He looks promising but I think it might be worth taking the 3 places on SKY for ROMAN EMPIRE as there's only 7 runners in the race. This gives us good value for the EW and this horse just keeps improving. 12.50 - ROMAN EMPIRE 6/1 - 3 paid sky 2.35 - BEDFORD FLYER 8/1 - 3 paid 12.15 - GREENHAM BAY 13/2 - 1 point EW - 4 paid TOTAL POINTS SUGGESTED - 5.
VIP TUESDAY LEICESTER 3.55 - THE FAMOUS FIVE 9/4 - 1 point win Waiting until the last race at Leicester for THE FAMOUS FIVE and hopefully we can get a better run from Charlie Deutsch and Venetia Williams horse. We backed Hold That Thought over the weekend and we didn’t even get a run for the money. Main rival SIZING POTSIE will need to carry more than a stone than this favourite who was first tried at Grade 2 level as a Novice. It’s well worth noting all of his best work has been done over these shorter distances in France, if you watch him at Ludlow most recently he led and was prominent but struggled in the last few furlongs and finished 4th. Before this, the same, again at Ludlow, just couldn’t see out the trip. He drops nearly half a mile for this and it could be key to a winning performance. LONGSHOT 1.00- EDEIFFS ROCK 8/1 - 1 point EW - 4 paid We have a 5lb claimer on board top wieghted EDE’IFFS ROCK who has very solid form claims at this distance. The past year must of been frustrating for connections as they have done everything but win. Good EW value but looks good enough to go one better and get the win. Her recent form reads 333222, in my opinion the most solid form at this trip of the line up. SHESUPINCOURT might be the danger as she’s in class form but i’m not sure about this trip for her. NEWBURY 2.00 - VALADON 11/10 - 1 point win Value is here with 365 at 11/10 as most bookies have this at 4/5 already. Not going to bang on too much about a short price fav but this looks solid based upon his recent exploits and he’s well ahead of the rest of the market and hard to oppose. Form has been franked but he must carry a penalty to win. 3.10 - BETWEEN WATERS 7/2 2 point win (Saver LITTLE ELSE - 0.5 EW 16/1 - 5 paid ) Owes us a win this one, second on the past two attempts with solid runs. She can’t be excused for not getting up, both occasions she travelled well and despite being best - her and the winner finished miles ahead of the rest of the pack. Switches to handicapping for the first time and I’m happy to see we have James Bowen on for the ride. This is a fav of Hendersons but it has a bit to prove ’she is starting to work properly, behave properly and jump proeprly’ he says. We need to see it translate to the track. I’m having bigger bet on BETWEEN WATERS as I think 7/2 is good value but I’m taking a small saver with 5 places paid on LITTLE ELSE who is unexposed and arrives in good form. LONGSHOTS 2.35 - OFF TO A FLYER 12/1 & BUFFALO SOLDIER 8/1 - 1 point EW - 4 paid LAST chance for OFF TO A FLYER as this will be the third bet we have had on him this season. We missed out on a place here at Newbury by a head, that was a class 2 race. He was worse NTO but now drops two classes and is 3lb lower. If he can’t go close tomorrow, i’m done with the horse for the time being. James Bowen also takes the ride on ABUFFALOSOLIDER who is a tracker horse i’ve left a few times of late. He’s had a wind op and is in calmer waters for this one. Good EW chance if can find old form. Total Points Suggested - 7.5
